This is an inexpensive item that really works. The splitting of kindling wood is now so easy to do without risking hitting myself or anybody else for that matter! Totally recommended.

Brilliant. Much easier splitting logs with this than using an axe. Needs a fairly hefty hammer but you don’t need much strength to spit the logs.

Great for chopping kindling. Used it many times and still performs well.

Much better way to split wood. I purchased the wedge type log splitter, which was really a waste of money and not that easy to use - also fairly unsafe if you are splitting a harder wood (ie: rooikrans, sekkelbos) and you get the impact point slight wrong. Although this item is pretty pricey for what it actually is in terms of material, this base blade is safe and easy to use. You can split the same piece of wood multiple times thereby splitting wood to the desirable size that you require - you will find it difficult to do this with the wedge splitter. Good piece of kit - just screw the base into a solid base (I used a log cross section +-12" in diameter and 4" high) and it works great! Purchased another 2 - 1 for my father in-law and 1 for my brother in-law who cook with wood as much as I do.

The media could not be loaded.  Not for chopping logs, although it does split smaller ones, but excellent for kindling. We screwed it to a block on a log to give extra height for clearance. Definitely as efficient & robust as I hoped.
