TIME ATAC Xc 6 Pedals - 2023 Black, Pair

I've use Time ATAC pedals for about 20 years now. These are easy to clip in and out of. This design remains reliable even with mud and rocks they still work.

I've been using the Time Speciale 8 on my MTB and I've been quite happy with them. In particular I bought them for their generous float as I have cranky knees. I recently bought a gravel bike and move the Speciale 8s to the new bike BUT... I didn't want to be swapping pedals back and forth, and the gravel bike doesn't need something quite as burly. The XC-6's maintain cleat compatibility, and the functionality is familiar. They're also lighter, and the price is absolutely phenomenal. I just couldn't justify the carbon layup for only 3 grams of weight savings per pedal. Time will tell how they do with durability but they look (and feel) like they have a quality build.

Time has had a fantastic solution to the ubiquitous SPD system going back a lot of years. Their ability to shed mud is second to none but the great thing about them is the rotational and lateral float. It's not near as much as the old Frog Speedplays ( which were amazing ), but its the right amount to allow your natural Q factor to find its place and not feel as locked in as standard SPD systems. They are definitely secure once you're clipped in, but have just enough knee saving float to be amazingly comfortable. Especially ride after ride and season after season. Time XC's also have the ability to adjust the spring tension ( which actually works ), as well as changing the cleat position go allow for either easy or deeper release angle. I know people in my cycling community that have been using these for over a decade with nothing more than an occasional cleat swap. If you're not into the SPD system or have knee pain issues, these are a great ( and one of the few ), alternatives. Highly recommended.

I have pretty much used every pedal system SPD, Speedplay, Look, Crankbrothers… and Time ATAC hits all marks for MTB style pedals: cost effective, float, durable and ease of use. Aside from race road applications… ATAC is where it’s at!

These clips work so well, these are second set in so many years. The float is excellent as is the entry exit. So much smoother than shimano type pedal.

I've had Time ATAC type pedals on at least 5 different bikes and have never been disappointed. That said, these are the best of them all. I was glued to the pedals when I wanted to be and kicked out with confidence every time that was necessary.My original MTB still has its original ATAC pedals, still working flawlessly, 20 years later.

Anyone who has ridden a variety of SPD pedals will tell you the same thing - get Time pedals, for very good reason. Like the description says - a workhorse of a pedal with great engagement (solid CLICK), durability, self cleaning, and the right amount of float to keep your knees happy while keeping your feet locked in.For the past year I’ve been running Crank Brothers Eggbeaters and Candys and while there really isn’t anything terribly wrong with them, the Time ATACs just feel better. Really glad that I decided to come back to Time. I don’t see myself switching to anything else anytime soon.
