SuaveKids Detangler (Pack of 4)
D**T
Not just for kids! Lightweight detangler as good as No More Tears used to be w/better scent
Both my wife and I use this to help keep our hair in good shape and to prevent damage when combing it out after a wash. I have short but very curly hair, unless I go for a crew cut. My wife has very thick, waist length, naturally wavy hair. She calls it 'Ethnic hair" meaning, she usually shops in the "dark & Lovely" aisle, even though she is Irish. Without a detangler, even the widest tooth comb would get stuck in HER hair! We like the crab-apple/melon-ish smell of the product and the fact that it isn't so heavy that it weighs down your hair. We prefer this to the old Johnson & Johnson No More tears product, which doesn't seem to be available anymore as we knew it, which is why we sought this out. They also have a very pleasant berry scent that is just as effective. If you are looking for a good detangler after washing, this will help, so long as you use proper wet-hair combing technique which is to begin at the BOTTOM, working on the tangles there and only then moving up in sections. My wife's mother used to torture her by starting from the top of her hair down and then pulling, stretching and damaging her hair. This stuff helps avoid split ends, breakage at the part line and just makes combing out wet hair and bedhead hair a lot easier.Of course, this is NOT a substitute for proper hair conditioning and proper washing technique. You don't want to be scrubbing your hair with your fingers, in circles, getting it all tangled up the way they do in commercials. Find a good Shampoo & conditioner that you trust and use the shampoo to mostly wash your scalp, taking the foam through the ends gently. There are special shampoo combs available now that flex in your hand and look like a small round hand tool. My wife uses a special flexible wide tooth shampoo comb to comb IN her shea butter shampoo and/or conditioner and then uses the comb to help rinse it out. Still she needs The Suave Detangler for kids even on the days between washings or if she is going to damp set rag curls over night. Me, I just use it to help me keep my hair in good shape and to prevent damage during my combing after shampooing. We love it. We buy it in volume once or twice a year and hope it never goes out of production.
