(I did buy the spring loaded hinging window restrictors which were no good in the end
I've bought lots of these now from a couple of sellers.(I did buy the spring loaded hinging window restrictors which were no good in the end, so I got a refund)Quite a few have developed a minor fault - the galvanised cap at the locking end pops out.I've been able to fix this by using mole grips and very slightly squeezing the underside of the cap so it's not completely round anymore, then tapping the cap back in to place. It seems to have cured the issue, which is cropping up on more of the unmodified units over time.On the whole though these are great.

The best money spent for peace of mind when you have small children :-)
AMAZING PRODUCT!!! I absolutely cannot find fault in this product, and the peace of mind it has given me is more than I can say. The locks were recommended to me by my brother in law who said how easy they were to fit - he was absolutely right. It took my husband no time at all, every window has them now. They are quite small and very sturdy - we've tried giving them a hard shove, as if a child was pushing on it, and they don't budge. We can now open windows upstairs and not worry about it. They open a good couple of inches, more than enough to let air in, and if we really want to open the window wide, the lock is easy to use - not like some key locks where you have to twist and wiggle the key. I cannot recommend this product enough to anyone with small children, who have no locks on their windows - the best money we've ever spent!!!

Watch out! Might crack glass pane if used on older narrow frame double glazing
Bought after reading reading the hundreds of great reviews on the single pack kit. I read the instructions carefully.I realised that the outer window frame attachment would need to go through the old outer wooden frame - phew - and no problems. The thickness of the inner window frame was narrow enough to leave no choice where to drill in the attachment. So I started screwing the screw through and.... crack! The screw hit the window and two two inch cracks had sprung up.These Penkid restrictors are literally unusable for me. I'm sure these are a great product so I feel harsh giving 1 star - and maybe I should have anticipated the issue - but there was no warning of this possibility in the instructions and I wanted to highlight a caveat amongst all the other glowing reviews for these restrictors in case I can save others from cracked window panes. In short, if you've got the newer PVC windows (last 5-10 years) with very think frames, then these are probably fine. If you've got slightly older double glazing (>10 years) with narrower frames, then there's a chance the window pane might extend too close to the edges and the screws might hit them. Wish I could post a picture of the issue...

Good quality, easy to fit.
Very easy to fit with the included fixings. I fitted 8 of these on a upvc frames.Seem of good quality although the keys are generic between all of them so not as ‘secure’ as you might want. But ideal for making sure a toddler doesn’t climb out of an upstairs window!

Great product
My husband installed these on the upstairs windows and they are great! Believe me easy to install, if my husband can do it anyone can, he is first to admit he's not very good at diy, but he did a fantastic job with these. I can now relax that kids are safe, especially with hot weather and needing windows open.

great product
Brilliant invention. Originally designed to protect children but for me it means I can leave windows open for my cats while I'm at work without worrying. They have plenty of cool air circulating in warm weather and the flat is safe. They are really easy to install and operate.

Works perfectly, stops our cat from getting outside onto the window ledge. but still lets in the fresh air.
