Great tool for getting a finer finish on metal or other objects with surface defects.
If you have an old grinder or buffing wheel set up (or even an electric drill) that will accommodate this wheel, you will discover what a buffing wheel can do to do to put a great final finish on a metallic object, particular if you have been restoring any tool or object that started out with a coat of rust or other surface discoloration Be sure to look into the various finishing waxes designed for use with buffing wheels and particular types of metal and the desired final finish. Amazon sells the following set of these bars that have gotten many good reviews, many of which contain tips on the proper way to get great results on a variety of materials. This is the description on Amazon: "Drixet 6 Piece Buffing, Polishing & Cutting Compound 4 Oz. Kit - Set Includes: Black Emery, Brown Tripoli, White Diamond, Red Rouge, All Purpose Blue & General Green Compounds."

It's A Good Wheel
It shed quite a bit with the first use, but I expected that and just used a bolt to run through it's layers, back and forth for a bit, to knock out the loose stuff. After that I applied some compound and I've been using it rather steadily for a month now on smaller bits/parts/pieces and I have no complaints.

Works Well
It does a great job polishing. It heats up very quickly though. It melted the synthetic handle on a knife after just a few seconds. A few threads go flying when first using it but that's expected and it stopped quickly.

Trust the reviews!
This is the best buffing wheel I've gotten for my buffer so far. Super soft and super wide. I do resin and wood projects, and this gave me a much more superior finish (and faster) than the 70 ply 1" thick buffing wheels I've used before this one.I'll be ordering a spare!!

It takes the heat and pressure
Nice wide sewn buffing wheel great for polishing brass from unfinished or sanded to bright polish. This wheel can take the pressure, speed and heat required for bringing brass and even steel to bright, smooth and shiny. I use mine on my wood lathe with one of those tapered screw, spin on adapters that I can easily put in the chuck. I don't have a need to relegate a separate bench grinder of buffing machine for such jobs. This wheel fits the bill for my woodworking shop perfectly.

XLNT product
Wider + more dense than others. Just started using it but surely will buy additional ones as I do more work + start to go thru them. Thank U.

Not for Tapered Spindle
I purchased this wheel to fit a tapered spindle. The Diameter of the center whole should have been small enough to fit a tapered spindle, but the center isn't woven very tight and the spindle would just spin while the wheel stood still. Also based on this I doubt if it will work very well on my standard spindle without the use of over sized washers. But the price was cheap enough that it was worth the risk.
