Great Revenge Film
This movie is about an overweight housewife named Ruth. Her husband Bob is an accountant who starts having an affair with one of his clients, Mary Fisher, a romance novelist who is as horny as a dog in heat. After several failed attempts to win Bob back and a disastrous dinner that his parents attended Bob calls her a she-devil. Ruth decides to either take away or use his four major assets to ruin his perfect world, home, family, career, and freedom. She hilariously does all that and in the process Ruth becomes a successful business woman via starting a employment agency with nurse Hooper, a woman that she worked with in a nursing home where Mary Fisher's mother lived, until Ruth got her thrown out by making Ruth's boss think that Mary Fisher's mother is incontinent. Ruth also orchestrates Bob's next affair with Olivia and finds out that he us embezzilng money from his clients. Ruth and Olivia sort exasperate Bob's theft but it turns out that they didn't need to. Ruth calls the IRS. Bob is arrested and Mary sees who Bob really is after she finds out that he stole more money from than from anyone else. Ruth uses the connections that she has to make certain that Bob doesn't get an easy judge. After all is said and done Bob spends a year and a half in prison and Ruth gets her children back while Mary Fisher writes a critically acclaimed novel, but Mary is still as horny as ever, but perhaps a little wiser. This is a hilarious revenge film for anyone who wanted revenge. I would highly reccommend it in general who finds revenge funny!

Very Roseanne . . .
Poor Roseanne's character has become an unappreciated mother substitute for her social climbing husband. So he leaves her, and she decides to get even. On the way she becomes all the things she was never aware she had in her. It's not as much about revenge, as it is about getting even. In this film we get to see the rarely seen Meryl Streep character (as in 'Death Becomes Her'), as the shallow femme fatale, get her comeupins, for stealing Roseanne's husband. Also included is the great Linda Hunt ('Year of Living Dangerously'). Great comedy, Not to be missed.

Shedevil - A guilty pleasure worth having
This is one of my favorite roseanne barr movies. Its an older 90s movie and a little campy, the house burning down scene comes to mind. But this does have meryl streep a martinez and ed begley jr too. And we cant forget the fabulous linda hunt mary fishers mom is one of the best parts in this movie by far as well. This is not for younger kids under 14, because of sexual situations i feel.Enjoy the movie for what it is, an escape and a laugh with friends who regal each other with tales of hair like meryl or 90s roseanne! So grab some popcorn, get comfy and watch....

For those in search of laugh-out-loud fun, this is the one!
Not every movie has to take itself seriously to be highly entertaining--and this is one at the top of that category. I dare anyone to watch it and not find plenty of amusing scenes to laugh out loud over.As expected from an actress of her talent, Meryl Streep is wonderful in her role as "Mary Fisher," queen of the romance novel writing genre. Opposite her, Roseanne Barr does a great job in her staring role as the clutzy, unappreciated wife, Ruth, who loses her husband to Ms. Fisher's charms, yet manages to get the last laugh by movie's end. Indeed, all the players in this hilarious tale add their part to make this one of my favorite comedies ever. I've watched it more than a few times, and can't help but howl with laughter. My favorite cast member is A Martinez, who turns a splendid comic turn as the butler, Garcia. In one scene, he buzzes up in a golf cart to deliver bottles of Yoohoo on a silver tray at tea time, thoroughly embarassing Meryl Streep's haughty character right during an interview for a magazine. With every nuance, pose, and facial expression he injects something special and really makes the most of his role. Truly, every scene in which he appears is purely delightful. If you find yourself in need of laughter on an otherwise ho hum day, watch this movie! I highly recommend it!!

wife versus mistress
This film is about a woman who stayed at home to be a good wife, mother and housekeeper, while her accountant husband career reached it ultimate pinnacle, the higher he became in status, the more he takes her for granted; she started to let herself go; by being overweight and losing her fashion sense. He was attending a party where the upper classes, famous and rich mingled. He invited his wife whose choice of clothings standout within a mile. While she was mingling, she bump into her favourite author (Merl Sweep) and with all her excitement, accidently spilled her wine on her outfit. Her husband came to Ms Sweep rescue and it was lust at first sight. Her husband decided to give merl Sweep a lift home and this is where, her life turned upside down with all the late hours and lies; then he walked out on her to be with Ms Sweep; she retaliated by blowing up the house, and brought the children and their dog to Ms Sweep love nest and leave them. She went on series of adventure to rectified things. Ms Sweep got a taste of her own medicine, as things started to falls apart; you know that saying what goes around, comes around. View the film for yourself.

Deserving of Cult-Classic Status
Two names you don’t usually hear mentioned in unison are Meryl Streep and Roseanne Barr, so how wild is it that back in 1989 the two were paired in this off-beat, overlooked, delicious dark comedy that makes its’ way to Blu-Ray thanks to the folks at Olive Films.Roseanne, just having come off a hugely successful debut season of her ABC sitcom, was on her way to becoming the most-publicized woman in America and here plays the dowdy, sympathetic put-upon housewife to Ed Begley Jr.’s upwardly mobile accountant whom accidentally impregnated Barr and now lives in suburbia with her and their two offspring. A chance meeting at a business function has both their lives colliding with that of Streep’s best-selling romance novelist character who also exists as a professional Drama Queen who makes short order of embroiling Begley in a steamy extramarital affair that rivals anything found in her trashy, fictional tomes. When Barr realizes Begley’s been cheating and confronts him, he pushes back too hard by yelling “You’re not even a woman…you’re a SHE-DEVIL”. Barr then concocts a devious plan to strip her philandering hubby of his most prized possessions: Home, Family, Career and Freedom. And if she’s able to make Streep’s life a living hell in the process, then all the better! The tone of the film is like a wonderfully campy parody of 1950s Women’s Picture mixed with classic animated Disney feature (though a demented one) and the score reflects this perfectly. There are numerous inventive and hilarious edits and cuts such as the scene where Begley’s about to receive fellatio from his mistress and the director cuts to Barr angrily chopping a cucumber. The director wisely makes use of unusual angles and lighting to great effect such as when Begley proclaims Barr a She-Devil, she’s bathed in blue light in the foreground. The scene where she sabotages the house by overloading the electrical outlets, loads the microwave with every aerosol can she can get her hands on and jams a butcher knife into the MixMaster is also a highlight (even if the explosion is obviously done on a blue-screen, its’ cartoonishness is appropriately in step with the film’s tone). The supporting cast includes the fabulous Mary-Louise Wilson (“One Day at a Time”) who has always had a hysterical way with a line (“INCONTINENCE!); Doris Belack (Dorothy Zbornak’s sister Gloria on “The Golden Girls”); Deborah Rush as a PEOPLE Magazine reporter; A Martinez (“Santa Barbara”) who isn’t given much to do besides display his chiseled pecs; Lori Tan Chinn who went on to join the cast of “Roseanne” the next season as hairdresser Iris in the salon where Roseanne starts sweeping floors.Lastly, the film is a fun time-capsule of sorts as we see Robin Leach and Sally Jessy Raphael as themselves and the soundtrack includes snippets of Cathy Dennis (“Come On and Get My Love”) and Jermaine Stewart (“Tren de Amour”). A bit of my favorite Elvis song even plays just before the closing credits start! The widescreen print looks great and SHE-DEVIL is a film that is fun, funny, well-paced and deserving of Cult Classic Status.
