I understood that these are chambray napkins and would therefore have a very informal, washed-out look. I like the muted colors of chambray, and I have some tablecloths that they would go well with for picnic-type parties. I also use napkins every day for our family meals, so I was prepared to like these. I was NOT happy with the stiff feel and quality of the fabric.I washed one napkin with a load of my other napkins on warm/cold and delicate dry. The napkin came out so wrinkled that it could not even be smoothed and folded. After steam ironing the napkin very well, I measured it, and it had shrunk a full inch in one direction and about 1/2 inch the other direction. Worse, it still had a cheap, stiff feel.I have made and bought many cloth napkins, and I find that a good quality cotton does not need to be ironed for everyday use, has a nice hand (drape), and will shrink minimally. These are not nice enough looking or feeling napkins for me to want to use only for an occasional party; therefore, they would have to be able to be washed, dried, and folded with the other everyday napkins. I am returning them.

Not as fancy as I had hoped. The red is flecked with white and it isn't a crisp red. Nonetheless a good napkin, good quality. I am happy.

The napkins are nice but are not the same color as depicted.

Soft, sturdy, and the perfect color. Not to bright. I used them for a vintage baseball baby shower.

Based on the illustration and other reviews, I was expecting something quite different from what I got.These are not burgundy colored, and they're not a linen texture. They seem to be well-made napkins, but they're extremely informal, something you'd use for a picnic or sandwich lunch rather than a dinner. The red is not a dark red at all; it's texturally mixed with white--looks like the warp threads are one color and the weft are the other. The result is a dark pink, not unattractive, but definitely not burgundy.The fabric is heavy, more like a soft denim than the usual cotton dinner napkin.While they're not bad at all, I have to say that if I'd seen them, I would not have bought them.

Wow -- these napkins were shipped FAST and they are better than I even expected! Thick chambray fabric and a generous size! I love to have cloth napkins on the table whenever we have anyone over to share a meal and these are perfect -- highly recommended!
