husband and be good to our work colleagues and neighbours but don't trust ...
Yes, this is a movie we should watch to learn and experience how evil the human can be and it is happened when the human learns about when the human dies what we can experience. To learn that single thing they experiment living human. They torture, they bit the hell out of them, they chain them, they even peal the skin, they do whatever you can imagine to make them suffer and they almost make the object die to experience death only to learn what is the world behind death.Do you agree that men are born evil? I do. So what shall we do? We stuck with our family, friends and wife, husband and be good to our work colleagues and neighbours but don't trust them. Just be nice to them. Make more team of your own and make them something that they cannot refuse but to cooperate with you. Make more power and money of your own. That's about it for living tactic in this cruel world I guess. If you wan to watch this movie, US version is not the right answer. It is ridiculously in a high price and I don't know why. Go to Amazon Uk. They sell in a decent price. You just need a code free dvd player do play. It's about 45 dollars from amazon. US site. Phillips is a good company sells this player. It was almost about the end that I realized that I saw this movie a long long time ago. Maybe I just wanted to erase the memory of watcing it at that time. It was such a pain and nightmare remembering this story. The story is about this girl who was kidnapped by this experimental scientist who study women and women only to learn what's beneath death. They do all kinds of things to women that you cannot even imagine. One thing is missing though that is kind of relief that is rape. They don't rape girls. They bit the s*** out of them every day. They feed the girls s***ty green porridge that is so untasteful that most of them vomits right away. They chain them in this underground room. They at the end peal their skin and suffer them to death and make them almost die to experience the death to learn what's the world behind death. There's two girl's in this movie. One is the one who ran away from this room when she was a child and suffered all her life from pain and nightmare. She has this imaginable monster in her that is constantly torturing her that is so pain that she has to come back to this experiment ward to kill the husband and wife who did bad things to her. She did what she has to do. She has this friend who half believes what she says. They come to this house and fulfill their revenge. After that, the girl kills herself to be free from everything. Being left alone, the friend found out that there is a underground and still there are women who are objects for this experiment. She tries to help them but during the process the people who are involved came and this time chained her. She became the next experiment. She was a strong girl and for the first time she survives till the end untill the very last phase which is pealling off the skin. She finally experience death. Now hundreds of old old women and men came to hear what's the next after death. There is this old lady sceientist ( I don't even want to call her that. She is rather a monster.) hears from her finaly what's after the death. Now it's time for her to say what's after the death. A woman came to pick her up to the speech. But/ she/ didn't. Instead/ she / kills/ herself/. Why? / because/ what's / after/ the / death/ is / so / pain/ to/ talk/ she/ rather/ die/ then / speak/ out/ loud/ in / public. You want to watch this movie? SOME NEW BLOOD INJECTED INTO HORROR
Wow!!The French really is busy re-invigorating the horror genre, which have now been over-inundated with dumb American slashers and straight-to-DVD dreck.Inside, Frontier(s), Haute Tension and its ilk have all been brilliant and uncomprimising films made with originality and a healthy un-Hollywood penchant for inspiring terror and not shying away from excessive gore and guts which only add to their disturbing ambience instead of being merely gratutitous (hope that's spelled right)It's as if the French have launched a savage assault on horror, taking over (at last) from the Japanese and other Oriental countries with their long-haired spectres. (Not that there hasn't been brilliant Japanese movies - Ringu, Kairo, Cure, A Tale of Two Sisters being examples)If the French are launching an assault, Martyrs is the spearhead.Absolutely uncompromising, here you will witness a whole family being shotgunned to death (in detail) and young girls being tortured incessantly. All this have a purpose though, as explained in the shocking final half hour. This will definitely not be titillating to any viewer and could be a real ordeal to sit through for the unexpecting and non-horror lovers. You have been warned.I, however, being totally desentisized after a lifetime of seeing every bloody horror movie I can lay my hands on, could stomach it though and could definitely appreciate what the director (slated to direct the Hellraiser reboot and from this movie it's easy to see why) was intending.Totally humourless (Thank goodness - although enjoying stuff like Shaun of the Dead and its ilk I'm sick of movies with their tongues in their cheeks) and dedicated to plumb the very depths of the darkness residing in all of us, this movie is the very definition of no-holds-barred. No, it's not so gross - I've definitely seen much much worse, even the Hostel movies (which I liked a lot) were more graphic than this, but it's the way it's done and acted which wallops the viewer repeatedly.I've read many reader reviews stating that although the movie is brilliant, that the reviewer will not watch it again.I've watched it three times already and will again. No, I don't consider myself sick, I just appreciate very well-done movies made with intelligence and enthusiasm.Horror, by definition, is meant to shock and disturb. If you don't like that, fine, go watch some rom-com.Yes, there is a place for more light-hearted and zany stuff meant to entertain rather than disturb (Evil Dead anyone?) and so-called quiet horror where it's what you not see that frightens (like Robert Wise's brilliant The Haunting) but horror should also go where angels (and anyone else sane) shoud fear to tread. But if it's not exploititave, and well done, it's almost always cathartic and Martyrs could be seen as having a happy ending (well, sort of, in its own sick, twisted way)Stephen King once called Clive Barker the future of horror.Didn't exactly turn out to be true (nowadays, he just writes fantasy and children's books) but this can definitely be applied to the French. To sum up, essential viewing if you consider yourself a serious horror fan.

The Most Intense movie I've ever Experienced
Pascal Laugier has made one hell of a movie with Martyrs—It's frightening, it's brutal, and it attempts with some success (within the film-universe) to justify the brutality through philosophical discourse. This movie of the New French Extremity genre is NOT for the faint of heart. It makes the 'Saw' franchise seem tame & trivial. If you need a watered-down Hollywood-ending version, there is a meh U.S. re-make from 2015; but it really pales to this Pascal Laugier original. This is Not a frivolous or easy-going horror movie. It's a real 'experience' that will leave you thinking about it for days on end.
