Needed an automatic hose reel that would mount to the fence and pivot to various angles. This seems well made and the feature that sold me on it was the ability to replace the hose if that is ever necessary. Many reels I looked at do not allow that and the entire unit must be replaced if the hose fails. Haven’t used it much but thus far it works great.

This item is very well made and easy to install.

Uncoiling and recoiling 75 feet of 5/8 inch garden hose, even just once a day, gets a little tiresome after a few years, so I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to find and install one of these. I purposely chose the 1/2 inch hose, 75 foot length, since most of what I use this for is watering the garden and sprinklers, for which the flow rate is perfectly adequate, and the 1/2 inch hose is considerably lighter to handle. The mechanics of the reel work very well, no matter how much the hose is extended. I plan to get another one for the other end of the house. Note: the hose that come with the reel is NOT high quality, but at least if it does need to be replaced, the manufacturer has built the reel in such a way as to make the replacement fairly easy.

We purchased 3 of these. First 1 and we liked it so well, we purchased 2 more. They are a pleasure to use! And have told many of my friends about them. The problem with one of them is after only 6 weeks, the hose that attaches to the house as broken in SEVERAL places. Neither of the other 2 have shown any wear. It must have just been a defective hose. But now it has been past 30 days and we can't do anything about it. I would have liked to contact the company and ask them for a replacement, but don't know who to contact. If not for this ONE problem, I would have given 5 stars.

Have had this for 2 seasons and it is great. The only complaint is the pressure loss through the smaller size hose and the length. Other than that I am going to get a few for my clients

Installation was easy and works great. It stays out of the way and winds back up very easily. The hose is a smaller than normal, so I would be worried about leaks if it was stowed with the water pressure on.Installation instructions could use improvement for people that are not handy. They mention there there are two installation options: directly into a stud with the screws provided or insert the anchors into concrete then screw in, but then the step-by-step instructions are only for installing into concrete.

We just installed our hose reel over the week-end. Didn't want to make holes in our siding, so decided to put a 4x4 stake in ground and mount to it - worked great, and longest part was waiting for the cement to set up firmly to mount hose reel to it. Love the reel, easy to use - love the side to side movement it has, LOVE the retractability it has - works so nicely. Would definitely buy again.

Bought 1 and loved it so much that we bought a 2nd one the next year for Mothers Day. She loved it, but now the 2nd one no longer retracts like it should. This is the reason we bought the thing and now it is no longer functioning and it has been just over 1 year of ownership. The last time it was pulled out it made a popping sound that was indicative of a spring becoming dislodged and so now the hose sits coiled on the ground. What a bummer. And now they no longer carry the black model, which means I will have to get a Giraffe or put up with the ugly off-white. Boo hoo.😧 Sure would be nice if I could get 2 years out of a retractable hose real, but maybe that is why this particular model has been discontinued. Perhaps this review will never be seen and the company will continue to sell shoddy hose reels, but get new 5 star reviews within the 1st year of sales and then change the color after 1 year after the negative reviews come flooding their Amazon. Make it right Sunneday!
