It just works. Was concerned plastic base would feel cheap, but it doesn't, it's very solid with some real weight to it. Bulb levitates as described, just be patient and follow the directions when placing it over the base. Just a little off center and the magnetism will stick it hard to the base. Just slowing spin it around the center of the base until it hits it's sweet spot and levitates.I'd been looking for something this cool for my office desk to distract me on those days I'm thinking about jamming sharp pencils in my eyes (just kidding)!

This light is really cool! bought one for myself to test it out and then got another as a gift for someone and they still use it years later. Easy to set up and the wood finish looks really cool with the right decor around it. I usually lightly tap mine so it spins slowly at night and it's pretty relaxing.

Great for a gift. Tricky to get it balanced but once you do you are good until your cat knocks it over again
