We got a 3 year old dog via adoption. While she was potty trained when we got her, it was hard to know when she had to go to the bathroom. I have 2 doors in my apartment that lead outside. She will go sit in front of one of the doors. And just sit there. Well, she's small and I don't see her when she's just sitting there. She doesn't bark or whine. So I got these bells. The first day, every time we brought her out to go potty, we rang them before opening the door. Within 3 days she was ringing the bells every time she wanted to go out. It's been great being able to communicate with the puppers this way. They are long enough for small dogs. Sturdy enough for big dogs. Loud enough to hear even when the tv is on.

In starting to housetrain train our Pom puppy, I remembered an aunt who trained her dog using a bell at the back door when it needed to go outdoors. When I saw these bells, and the great reviews on them, I ordered them immediately. They are very sturdy, allow adjustments on height, have lots of bells to make appropriate noise, and are very easy for even a Pom puppy to use. I am getting a new dog and he is 8 months old and not potty trained. My previous dogs have all been trained using bells like this, and I frankly didn’t have time to find one in a store to use. This product is very nicely made, very sturdy, and made of quality materials. I ended up taking off 2/3 rows of bells since the tone of the jingle was a little much for my ears when in 3 parts (It is quite high pitched) but I really appreciate that that is an option without destroying the product. It is also a wonderful value!!

My puppy picked up how to use the bells when she needs/wants go outside quickly. It really helps me when I’m working since I don’t see her go to the door and she knows if she rings the bells I hear her and she waits for me.

It was SO EASY to train my dog with these bells! She nudges them with her nose every time she wants to go out. Love them, and so glad I got them!

They look nice but I can’t get them set up

This is a great training tool for house training. My dog caught on real fast and will now ring the bell when she wants to go out. She was afraid of the bells at first, so I started by holding the bells and holding a treat behind them. She would have to nudge the bells to get to the treat and this worked to get her over here fear. I then hung them on the door knob and I rang the bells before I opened the door to take her out and used the word outside at the same time. It only took 2 or 3 days for her to figure it out.
