Great for troubleshooting. It fits nicely in the palm of your hand, it’s easy to use, has a backlight, and it’s accurate. Really like the leads, they have a removable cover . Small enough to get into tight places. Simply the best for the price.

This is truly a great little multimeter. I bought it as a backup for a larger and much more expensive multimeter that I own. I think my old meter will be gathering dust.This is a true auto-ranging meter, unlike my other “auto-ranging” meter.Notice there is no dial to select ac, dc, ohms or current. Turn this baby on and it's ready to measure whatever.The ohms function automatically defaults to continuity testing on measuring low resistance, accompanied by a beep.It has a NCV (non-contact voltage) voltage detection feature that allows you to check an ac voltage outlet with only one lead to check to power and which side of the outlet is hot. This is an unusual feature at any price.It almost seems like magic that it switches between ohms, AC and DC. My other “auto-ranging" meter requires me to switch between functions.Large high contrast LCD with a bright backlight function and led flashlight on the back!Uses 2AAA battery instead of the 9VDC most meters use.It comes with better than average probes with removable tip shields.I have some standards that I use to test the accuracy of my meter and it within its' claimed specs.It doesn't have two features my not expensive meter has, namely temperature and frequency measurement capability, which I rarely use.I am giving this five stars for an unbelievable value at this price point.Attached are two photos showing the backlight and probe details.

These little Chinese cheapies are a great, low-priced but adequate quality alternative to grossly overpriced Fluke meters. Their accuracy on most functions exceeds published specs and they work as described in the listings. They use two inexpensive AAA batteries instead of the more expensive 9 volt batteries most other cheap DMM's use and their build quality is solid. The only drawback I found while using these meters for household electrical work is that they will "false-trip" newer ARC-Fault circuit breakers 100% of the time when testing electrical leakage to ground. That's because they present a very brief short circuit as they autorange when first connected. Many other autoranging DMM's also suffer from that limitation. The newer ARC-Fault breakers detect this normally harmless brief short circuit and cut the power off. In these cases, I use a non-autoranging DMM. Overall a very good value for the price. Put one in your toolbox and you won't be disappointed.!

Sooo convenient! It has always been a minor inconvenience to me having to switch from volts to ohms to continuity..., but no more. Just turn on the meter, place your probes on the contacts, and look at the display. There are convenient indents on the back to hold your probes when not using the meter, and It even turns itself off after several minutes of inactivity to save your batteries. In short, whether you're a professional electrician or an absolute newbie this is a great meter to have.

Generally, it's a nice meter, BUT it has shortcomings:1. The total auto ranging design (no rotary switch) can confuse resistance and voltage, at least in some circuits (sorry, I can't remember the nature of the circuits). This would not be the case with rotary-dialed volts and amps, plus auto ranging in those scales.2. If you have a 1 ohm current sensing resistor and try to measure voltage across it, the meter briefly flashes a reading (not necessarily the right one) and then shuts off thinking it sees a short circuit. This also happens at much larger than 1 ohms.3. The meter only has a 10A amp scale and does not return a reading at <240mA. I put 8V on a 33 ohm and got the 240mA reading; no reading with 47 ohms (117 mA) and larger. Thus, don't expect to measure low mA or any uA.4. I know the value of auto shutoff. However, I find it quite annoying. I grab the probes, place them on the point to measure, only to find that the meter has shut off and I have to press and hold a button to proceed..

I bought this multimeter to check if the thermocouple of the water heater was working. The pilot of my water heater could not stay lit. It was very likely that thermocouple had gone bad. But i needed to be certain about it. So i used this tool check the voltage. When i lit the pilot and held the pilot set botton down, i checked the voltage of the thermocouple, and it returned 1mv,which was not good. The voltage is suppoed to ne 20mv to work. After changing thermocoupl,i checked again and now the reading was 20mv. Thanks to the help of this little tool.

When I first tried it out, I thought the test probe surface area WAY too small. You can remove a protective plastic covering from the "test" end of both probes, but it takes a bit of work. This exposes much more of the test probe metal surface, making them far more usable. It's not obvious that the plastic protective covers are removable, though, and it's not mentioned in the little foldout manual accompanying the product. I haven't been able to get the "NCV" function to tell me anything, but since I didn't know that was even on the unit, I still give it 5 stars!

Lo malo que tiene este tester es que no funciona con capacitores que fue por lo cual lo compre pero realmente me quedaré con el por el precio y lo practico que es.

Overall very good item, strong and easy to use. I needed one to check the voltage of my car battery.Pretty much straight forward to make it work, the instruction manual is easy to understand. I really liked the small led on the top that can't be useful in darker area or in case of a blackout. Also nice that it came with three AAA batteries.I just had to select the amount of voltage in order to have an accurate reading. You can also select the ac/dc voltage.Util and nice to have item at home !

Para usos residenciales me parece un excelente multimetro. El tamaño es adecuado, la pantalla de buen tamaño y resolución. Lo único que cambie fue las puntas para poderlas insertar en los contactos y tomar la lectura del voltaje pues las puntas con que viene están protegidas con plástico casi hasta el final y no se pueden insertar en los contactos. Lo volvería a comprar sin pensarlo.

I originally looked at buying one of these from the hardware store and they were over $75! I figure I’d order from Amazon and if I didn’t like the quality it’s a simple return. This works exactly as I need and is very accurate. I compared it with my neighbors multimeter and got the same results so I was confident that it works well.It’s nice to have peace of mind if I’m working on electrical to know that the power is off etcOverall it’s great value and a worthwhile purchase

Esta muy Bien para usos que no demanden algo industrial, yo lo uso para mis hobbies en electrónica, lo que es algo difícil es la lectura en Amperes por lo demás esta bien.
