Fits The Need
This is just what I wanted in a monopod. I could quibble and prefer carbon but in truth, I doubt the weight difference would be noticeable given there isn’t that much material here compared to a conventional tripod.I got this because a job needs me to move from place to place quickly and I won’t have enough room to place a tripod down even if I could manage moving it quickly. I thought I’d be trading stability for mobility. There is some of that but the tradeoff isn’t nearly as a downside as I thought and made even less by the camera’s lens IS.The feet fold up to make a true monopod like used by still shooters and this can be used as such, but it’s clearly aimed at videographers. A ball joint at the base allows easy but dampened movement of the stem after the feet are deployed. Being a monopod, I’d not leave this unattended with a camera attached when it’s extended. Please see the photos. A stiff wind or even a gentle bump by an inattentive person would knock it over. When closed, it’s solid. I took these images without the supplied head handle attached. It also comes with a nice carry case. The head performs smoothly. After years of using the twist and miss tripod leg locks, I’m happy now to be converting to flip cam lockers. Overall, this is doing every bit as well as I’d hoped.

Great product
This is my first fluid head monopod, so I can’t compare it to much else. What I can tell you, though, is that I find the fluid head to be smooth and easy to use. The locking mechanisms are solid. The carrying bag it came with seems really good, better than expected. Tucked away in the inside zippered pouch were some accessories. Nice touch! My only complaint is that the lever for locking the quick release plate can be hard to access because the locking lever on the handle. And, an allen wrench is used to tighten the plate’s screw to the camera. I’m sure this is w very secure way of doing, but I know that wrench will come up missing shortly. I will probably see if I can find a dedicated Allen wrench screwdriver-type, with a handle and such, to keep in the bag, as that will be harder to lose.Overall though, I highly recommend this monopods. I’m anxious to acquire Cayer’s fluid head tripod at some point in the near future. And the company seems awesome. They sent me a very nice email, asking that I give this review.

good quality, slightly pricy
Not upset with the amount I’ve spent, it’s a great monopod and works well. But would’ve been more excited if it was a little less, now i’m scared to death that I’m going to break it every time I use it.

Premium product, Beast of a Monopod!!!
This Cayer Monopod is a beast!!! built premium and the fluid head is amazing, not only do you get a complete monopod for video but you could use this versatile gear for photos and light setups, I purchased the monopod with the clip locks and they are so easy and sturdy no slips, I would like to try the twist locks in the future for more situations where I need to have a faster setup and in quieter environments

Customer service is great!
I got this monopod to help with corporate and wedding shoots I do with a bmpcc4k. My rig is decent sized (camera, 20-70mm, vmount battery, external monitor) but it handled it pretty well. I definitely would not leave it standing unattended because it could tip over with all of that weight, but the extensions never slipped with the size of my rig. The build quality is great and it's form factor is really versatile. It allows you to use it collapsed, fully extended, or even as a tabletop tripod. It also swivels 360 degrees at the base so you can get some dynamic pans and 'cheated' dolly shots and the fluid head is exceptionally smooth for this price point. My monopod had an issue with the feet when I first used it. One of the connecting screws was stripped and that foot would not stay locked in the upward position (thankfully it still locked when setting it down). I was still able to get through the shoot fine and captured some really nice footage. I reached out to Cayer after the shoot and explained what was wrong. They immediately messaged me back and sent a replacement set of feet. I simply screwed them onto the original monopod and the issue was solved! All in all, I would definitely recommend this product if you're interested in getting a monopod to supplement your gear. It is way more mobile than using a tripod and their customer service is top notch.

Good value
Better than expected for $90US. The lock on the foot preventing tilt can sometimes loosen a bit on it's own allowing a little tilt but that's my only complaint. The pole itself is stiff and sections lock securely. The tilt head is as good as you can expect at this price point. The tripod base is my favorite part. It's a bit wider and more solid than some competitors. The storage bag is more solid than expected.

not durable at all
Seemed fne for the price. But only used this to mount a webcam on which is extremely light and then saturday mornings would extend the it once in a static position to run the webcam and then at the end of the day collapse it so based on the number of events we have had it has been expanded and collapsed only about 48 times. all the joints are loose if you extend and lock it just falls because it is loose. Even 3 of the 3 feet dont engage they just flop. I know I can go thru all of the joints anad tighten them but that requires an allen and socket since they are different connectors. I have been in video rpoduction for 20 years and have a lot of pro equipment that has been through exxtremely heavy use and rarely have any issue. this item although not professional is definitely the lightest use and has extremely poor durability. Anytime you have to hand tighten screws on these devices that means it never works quite right again..

Sturdy but not smooth
The monopod itself is very sturdy and well designed but the fluid head that it comes with should only be used for photography not video production projects due to the pan not being a smooth enough action. This may be just the one I received and my solution was to put a different smoother video head on this monopod…
