I originally had a lazer Thermometer but with many inaccuracies, and without being able to see at a glance at the temp, i decided to get very quickly one of these.A week later, I found myself getting a second double boiler so at the time of ordering, i got myself a second temp gauge too and really glad i have. I use both at the same time and can keep track of what i am doing instantly without waiting a while and then adjusting like i was doing with the lazer temp but sometimes, it was already a bit too late and i did end up with wax in the danger zone. I can see instantly when things a getting too hot before any wax damage is done.A lovely product and earlier today, i had poured into a large pouring jug, was letting it cool before pouring again into the final container, i managed to drop the thermometer into the wax. even covering the dial. I pulled it out, and after pouring my wax a few minutes later, i found that the thermometer was really easy to clean and still works fantastic after being submerged in melted wax. what i could do with is another one of these with an extra long pin that goes into the wax for use on my larger pouring jug to prevent me doing the same accident again.

I bought this for my husband to manage the temperature of a water bath and he loves it so much he wants another one! Readings are clear so it is easy to use. A successful and inexpensive present.

Just received my thermometer, haven't used it yet but it seems very good. Clear and easy to read. As well as candle making, I'll be using it to make my homemade creams. I was using a hand held thermometer, which was a REAL pain! This one clips very nicely on the side of my pan so I'll have both hands free. Am very much looking forward to using it.

Great product works well

I have just got back into candle making and looked at many thermometers. I chose this one because it was very visual, easy to use but was not the cheapest. It lived up to my expectations and could glance at the clear colour code whilst concentrating on wax. Very pleased with purchase and would recommend anyone looking to purchase a thermometer for candle making to buy this one. Definitely worth the money and quick delivery.

It was my first time making candles at home so I was a little apprehensive. I ordered this (along with a metal wax melting jug) to help me get things right! I wasn't disappointed, this took out all the guesswork so I knew when to add fragrance oils and when it had cooled enough to pour. The candles were a great success and I can see I will be using this little gadget for a while to come.

Very useful piece of kit that every candle maker should have. As you may or may not know; temperature is key to making candles, scented or unscented. I make scented candles which makes it even more important to know the temperature to know when to add the scent. This nice little bit of kit displays the temperature in a simple to read manner and has a colour coded chart that shows helps you understand when to work with your wax.Recommend to every candle maker!

I thought that there was an accuracy issue with mine, but it turns out that it was fine.I emailed Our Family Crafts and they got back quickly, their service was very very good.It turns out that everything was fine and I've been using it for the last week no problems at all.Just FYI, paraffin wax goes a bit bleh at the lower pour temperature range, so try to keep it low green rather than blue (just my opinion), but for soy wax this thing was a great guide
