Completely sucked into this series - Prepare yourself for Donovan Kincaid!
4.5 “Donovan Kincaid” KissesUmmm…yup…I’m so beyond happy with my decision to wait and read the Dirty Duet back to back because O-M-F-G! I am over the moon hooked. Like I might need another universe to contain my addiction to this duet. I read both Dirty Filthy Rich Boys and Dirty Filthy Rich Men in less than 24 hours and every second that I am not reading Dirty Filthy Love feels like pure torture. So, yup…insanely addicted and I can’t even feel bad about it. Dirty Filthy Rich Boys is actually the first 20-ish% of Dirty Filthy Rich Men, it sets everything up perfectly and if I thought my excitement was all for nothing about DFRM, I am totally certifiable because good Lord almighty, Laurelin Paige proved (yet again!) why I absolutely LOVE her writing.Sabrina Lind…well, I pledged my undying love for Sabrina in my review for DFRB and with DFRM, that love only intensified. 27 year old Sabrina is just as amazing as 17 year old Sabrina…still strong, still insanely smart, but with more experience and knowledge about herself. She’s more confident, more self-aware…she’s got a little more sass and spunk, which I think is definitely a product of age and maturity. I do have to say there were a couple of instances (mainly towards the end) where her actions frustrated me to no end…yes, it was because she was doing what I didn’t want her to do but that wasn’t the point. I did see/understand her logic and emotions for why she was doing them…but it was still frustrating. It didn’t stop me from loving her – far from it, I love her despite them. Sabrina was so strong except where one man with powerful hazel eyes is concerned…‘Once upon a time I would have let rich boys get away with s#!t like that. I had let rich boys get away with much worse. Not anymore.’Donovan Kincaid…once again, I tried so freaking hard not to be drawn to this man and once again I failed miserably. If I thought Donovan was an ass before, in ten years he has mastered the art of being an ass. He could teach classes about it, win awards – the Oscar of Ass Holes. And I loved basically every second of it. Even when it was killing me, a sick, twisted part of me still loved it. Ugh…how one man can be such a dick and yet make my heart melt is beyond my capability of understanding…but there you have it. I still didn’t get enough of him…still don’t know as much about him as I want to…but gawd he has me insanely hypnotized. His power, his dominance, his control over every single situation…how easily he can read Sabrina, how no matter how hard he tries, his true intentions spill from every unspoken word, every glance and even the most subtle gestures.‘I hated how much I wanted him to kiss me.“Why do you do this to me?” I whispered. His lips hovered above mine. Dancing. Teasing. “Do what?”“Trap me like this.”“It makes me feel like I have you.”I ached at my core. “I don’t want you to feel like you have me.”“Are you sure of that?”’Holy hotness with a side of wow…I don’t know if I can truly do justice to Sabrina and Donovan. They’re hot passion mixed with a twisted history and I flat out couldn’t love it more if I tried. It’s funny because with the set up in DFRB and the beginning of DFRM, I was honestly expecting a possible love triangle, or at least love triangle-ish with Weston but it was pretty clear early on that there was and will never been anything that can compete with the connection that Sabrina and Donovan have. They’re like a lock and key, they just fit perfectly and trying to deny that chemistry is completely and totally futile. Their sexual connection is fire…so off the charts hot, I couldn’t even feel guilty about loving it as much as I did. Their balance is…interesting – it’s obvious that he holds all the power and honestly, that would normally irk me. I am totally fine with alpha males, guys having their domineering “I’m in charge” attitude – 9 times out of 10 I think it’s incredibly hot and on Donovan it’s just plain sinful – but the power balance between Donovan and Sabrina is quite unique. On the outside it would seem that he holds all the power…he calls the shots, he makes the rules and she is stuck playing his game because he is the only one that gets her…she’s been addicted to this guy for 10 years and she doesn’t have the will to say no to him…but I truly believe that she holds more power on him than he is willing to admit. I guess time will tell…“I could have anyone’s mouth on me,” he said, his breaths short. “Any woman I want. Money can buy the prettiest lips, the most famous mouths, the deepest throats. And still, for ten years, all I can think about is your mouth. It’s only yours I want. Why can’t I get over your godd___ lips?”Laurelin Paige is magical…brilliant…a genius that continually overpowers me with her ability to write novels that shoot straight into my heart and reside there forever. Dirty Filthy Rich Men is just another in a looooooong (and continuing to grow) list and after years of mind blowing awesomeness, I can basically say if she ever stops writing, I will go into mourning. She has this ability to create characters that feel so real, story lines that leave me gasping and dying for more and an emotional web that I’m so tangled in, but I don’t ever want to be set free of. I adore her writing…it’s magnetic, I feel compelled to read and her books are unputdownable…clearly, I finished a novella and a novel in less than 24 hours…but it’s so much more than that. I don’t take for granted the fact that she is able to pack such an ultimate punch with her words that she leaves me reeling.‘“That doesn’t mean I’m any less vile.”“Because I want you to scare me, and you know it. Because the way you’re vile fits the way I’m vile.” I sucked hard on his thumb.“You’re not vile,” he groaned. He drew his wet thumb from my lips and placed his hand firmly behind my neck so he could pull me down toward him.“Then neither are you,” I managed before his mouth crashed against mine.’So….the ending – I knew to expect the cliff hanger, I wasn’t sure how exactly it would happen and in true Laurelin form, she delivered a goodie. I am one of the few (possibly weird) readers that loves cliff hangers…if it is good, well timed, flows with the story and isn’t done for shock value. This cliffy definitely falls into all of those categories. It fits a purpose, it plays right into the emotional rollercoaster that I have been on with Sabrina and Donovan and I really like it – cause obviously it has me dying to get into Dirty Filthy Rich Love. I am so anxious to see where Laurelin takes the story but it’s been pretty amazing so far, so I have no doubt she’ll continue to blow my mind with the finale. #DirtyFilthyRichAddicted

Superb writing, but characters too flawed?
Laurelin Paige is a superb writer with characters that are difficult to figure out and aren't like those so typical in other novels. I anxiously awaited this book, and it left me wanting more after first reading the prequel, then the book itself. However, I am rating this book 3.75 stars for the following reasons:- I struggled with identifying with the characters and I am still trying to figure out if I can like them with some of their flaws- The fact that we have to wait until September to see what happens next. Does no one write a great, standalone, un-hurried novel anymore? Better question is 'can Laurelin Paige write a standalone novel?'The writing itself is worth 5 stars. The dialogue is witty, entertaining, and flows so smoothly. It's a treat to read a book where I don't have to re-read pages to figure out why there were time jumps or people that show up out of no where. Those aren't issues in Ms. Paige's books. She also writes characters that are unique, but likable. In her "Fixed" series, we met Alayna Withers that had been in multiple relationships before she met Hudson, and was basically a crazy, stalker ex-girlfriend to each one of them. Hudson, on the other hand, was essentially a sociopath (not psychopath, but couldn't feel emotions or remorse for his actions). The result, surprisingly, were characters that I still think about because of their complexity, and while I cannot personally relate to either of them, I felt I could understand them and I liked them. Here, I don't know if I like Sabrina or not. To backup, when I saw her name was Sabrina, I expected a story that would be some play on the classic story of the "poor" girl that is in love with one guy/brother, but ultimately ends up with the other. There are certainly themes of that in this story. Anyway, I found Sabrina to be a bit of a doormat. We'd see examples of her asserting herself briefly, but then Donovan would do or say something to her, and she'd let it go or get past it. Sometimes, I felt that Sabrina left nothing to the imagination as it related to Donovan. Donovan seemed to be so in tune to everything she wanted/needed/was thinking that it seemed that he was a mindreader. I expected an arrogant SOB, alpha-type that is crazy about his woman, because that's all that is in the genre these days. However, I didn't see many instances where he actually cared about her. Attracted to her? Absolutely. And some of the s-x scenes were HOT and certainly demonstrated that.Speaking of the s-x scenes, I struggled here in a way that made me look inward. Reading in between the eroticism I felt concerned for Sabrina's future with this man. Meaning, if things like this are what it takes to get him off, will there come a day where play-acting with her won't be enough? I won't give away anything here (and there are no instances of dubious consent - Sabrina wants everything that Donovan gives her), but there are some fantasies/scenes that play-act certain disturbing things. We did not get a chance to really learn much about Donovan in this book. He seems like an a-hole some of the times, but I was desperate to learn more about him, outside of him being a freak in the bedroom and a powerful businessman. He remained an enigma for the entire book, but the glimpses of him that we did get did not endear me to him. I wanted to see more of his vulnerability towards Sabrina, but he seemed to know everything there was to know about her, including her thoughts, and his treatment of her wasn't distant or "afraid to fall in love-ish" like other books in the genre. It was downright mean. Sabrina didn't seem to have much control over herself when it came to Donovan. His cruelty was quickly forgiven. His actions excused. What I couldn't figure out was other than s-xual gratification, what did Donovan do for her? In other words, the chemistry is clear; the writing of their mating is some of the best I've read. But other than that, what drew Donovan and Sabrina together? That question, for me, remains outstanding.Lastly, and I know this isn't a new issue and is a thing with many of the bestselling authors these days, but I'm a little irritated that we need to wait to September to see how this story ends up. Its not a cliffhanger in the traditional sense, but things are completely unresolved. It's like watching a great movie, and about 75% in, turning it off for a few months. I WILL be reading the next book in this series, obviously, but for Ms. Paige's next series, I'll wait until they are all released to enjoy them in succession.

Such addictive reading!
I was supposed to be reading other books, but I started this book on Radish and then realised that I already owned it!"The problem is that the thing you really want to stop isn't me, it's how you react."This story was hot AF! It was dark, a little bit depraved, but made my heart thump and wish so, so hard for a happy ending. Sabrina Lind suffered a trauma in her freshman year at Harvard and was saved by Donovan Kincaid - the best friend of her major crush, Weston King. Donovan became the object of her obsession in a desperate bid to get over her PTSD. Another trauma has her abruptly leaving Harvard, never to return. Ten years later, she’s back in their lives. She knows that Weston is the good, safe guy, but her depraved cravings will only be satisfied by Donovan. The one with the untouchable heart."I was inside his trap now. Stuck. And his hold wasn't fragile at all. I was going nowhere until he cut me loose."This story was such addictive reading! I was totally, irrevocably hooked! Under his slick suits and cold demeanour, Donovan was a walking bleeding heart. He could try to deny it all he wanted, but his interest and care for Sabrina was stamped into his every action. Sabrina felt weakened by her desires but she didn’t realise that she held just as much power as Donovan. I adored that everything he denied that he wanted, was EVERYTHING he really wanted."When I fall in love, I become so consumed, so preoccupied with the person I'm in love with that I do things I shouldn't. I get involved. I intervene."Gaaah! Loved this story so much and will be reading the concluding part to their story as soon as I can.

Smitten!
***May contain spoilers***"There were men who were intended for futures, and there were men who were intended for filth. Donovan was intended for filth, and he was wise to lay it out from the beginning."Well hot damn!Laurelin certainly knows how to write men that will speed up your heart rate, raise your temperature and make all other men seem kinda boring and well normal. There is nothing normal or boring about Weston or Donovan and I am certain there are #teamweston and #teamdonovan forming everywhere right now due to these two. I can tell you I switched sides more times than I like to admit and there were even times I straddled the line and swooning over both. I also adored Sabrina! The characters are strong and you can connect with them almost straight away. What ever you feel towards them you will feel it fiercely and probably with conviction especially towards Donovan. He's not an easy man but my God is he easy to fall in love with! The story will take you by the balls and make absolutely no apologies for doing so. You will be absolutely gripped and flying through the pages to find out what comes next. Every last detail about this story is seductive and completely edible!I was absolutely smitten from the beginning, but then I only need to see Laurelin's name and I am there! I love the way she builds a story, the way she pulls a reader in and had the power to keep you hooked throughout. But no think what I love the most is how Laurelin's writing has the ability to make you feel. You feel every last ounce of emotion that she pours into her writing and the story.I really can't wait until September to read what happens as we continue this amazing story!

Dirty, filthy and so rich
Donovan Kincaid should come with a warning. The man is filthy and you will fall in love with him. He is beyond another a****le I've read in a while, maybe ever.He the epitome of alpha hotness and Sabrina is a lucky girl or is she, he pushes every button but she loves it - he is the kind of man she needs, Weston King is too safe, Donovan is danger with a capital D.I loved this book so much I wanted to make it last until September, but Donovan waits for no one. You see after my recent book funk, the books I've loved I've wanted to last, with this one I didn't want it to end and I wanted to keep the feelings this book made me feel.So if your looking for a dirty rich filthy man to fulfill your fantasy this book and Donovan is for you.

Good book and easy to read
Donovan and Sabrina story was interesting. A brief attraction starting at college then obsessively lasting 10 years before they re-connect. It's a story worth preserving after the free prequel, which was a bit teen romance- crush on hot cute rich guy, before admitting that teacher is a bit of a hottie too. The attempted rape scene by Theo was tactfully done and good on LP for including a contentious topic in her book. Sabrina desire for rough sex is perhaps a recovery mechanism, which she then seems to enjoy. To present day and the weekend fling with Weston, was a good one to cross off her 'bucket' list, doesn't come across that he was as her 'Mr va-va-voom' though, luckyily for Donovan. Sabrina and Donovan have very sexual focused relationship, doesn't seem to be much chit-chat. Appreciate Donovan is rather controlling and seems to prefer to push Sabrina away, rather than address their demons.I'd give the book 4 stars. It's a good read, perhaps not as "sex dirty flithy " as I expected it to be by reading the book synopsis hype - That could just be my slutty-sex optimistic mindset!?!I purchased the next book in the series already, as it was a package buy, therefore I know the HEA outcome (I'm a quick reader)...

It was sinful, and sensual, and just downright sexy, and that's mostly to describe Donovan...
Donovan has to be the most mysterious, dominating, confusing, yet addictive man I’ve ever had the pleasure to read about. From the very start he kept me on my toes. With him, and with Sabrina – with their story – I never knew what was going to happen next, which only had me devouring this book all the more. Twelve hours went by and I didn’t even notice. To say I was hooked is an understatement – I was consumed. From the very start, through everything that happened in this book, to that ending that has left me cursing and screaming for Dirty Filthy Rich Love - I loved it all. From what we got in Dirty Filthy Rich Boys, we simply see how it is Sabrina knows and meets Donovan Kincaid and Weston King, and we see how it is both boys changed her life. In Dirty Filthy Rich Men, this story takes place ten years later, and we see how, once again, both men change her life. The things she experienced in the past with Donovan and Weston was over before it even truly begun. Meeting Weston again, and spending that passionate and erotic weekend with him is what changes her life once more, because not only does it mean being back in HIS life, it also means being back in Donovan’s.It’s official. Dirty Filthy Rich Men is my favourite book of Laurelin Paige. It was sinful, and sensual, and just downright sexy, and that’s mostly to describe Donovan. He’s a man like no other; he craves control, of everything and everyone around him. Donovan was like a puppeteer, and everyone around him were his puppets. He could be possessive, protective, and aggressive, and a downright dirty man. And Sabrina… She’s definitely grown and changed from the weak and naïve girl I saw in Dirty Filthy Rich Boys. There were times where she was strong and stood her ground, but then there were times where she was weak, and the only thing she could do was let Donovan play his games and control her once more, not that she ever complained… Me neither. The things that man said and did left me breathless and had my heart racing many, many times, and left me wanting more. This is, undoubtedly, one of the sexiest reads that I have read this year.If you’ve read and loved The Fixed Trilogy and The First and Last Duet, then you’ll definitely love this book. Dirty Filthy Rich Men, in my eyes, is Laurelin’s sexiest book she’s ever written, and one of her best works to date. I loved it, and I cannot wait for September to come so I can read the rest of Donovan and Sabrina’s alluring and addictive story.
