I was going to bin this but thought I would read the reviews...
Like most geniuses, I threw away the instructions as I opened the box. Its a welding mask, not an aeroplane and I have had a self darkening mask before. Anyway, after setting the sensitivity and delay settings on the lens panel, I thought I was ready to go. Had a few welds and thought, this is dimming, but not nearly enough. I was about to bin it but thought I would read the Amazon reviews. This is where I discovered you can adjust the darkness when in dark mode on the grey (in my case) knob on the OUTSIDE of the helmet. Problem solved and I am an idiot after all. I thought this was for tightening something. It was on the lightest setting. It really does go from 'off' right round to 'can hardly see it at all'. Pretty impressive. The helmet is comfortable, stays up when you need it, my kids think it looks cool and for less than 30 English quids delivered I am very pleased, now I know how to use it.

Welders electrical Helmet with variant shades
I like the design and that it's light and there's room to had magnified lens. My dislike was peeling sticker off front lens and it left most of the orange red writing where it stated to peel off before use. I have provided a photo of the sticker and you can see where the writing came off, it was everywhere all inside on both sides of lens it took forever to get it all off as you hot to be careful you don't scratch it. Otherwise it's great. But for future change the way the sticker is done maybe put a label with info on onto protective lens cover so it doesn't happen again.

Dangerous, avoid
This is the second cheap (< £60) helmet I am trying, the other one was a yeswelder (gone back already). In one word, it is dangerous. As some others have mentioned, when it detects a flash it darkens for a second or so, and then, without any reason, it lets all light in, thereby blinding you. I tried it with my LED torch and it darkens the screen when the torch is lit at it, but in 50% of the cases after about a second, it undims the display and you get stabbed by the light. Other times it stays dark, as it should, until the torch is removed. Very temperamental and of course unreliable. You would not want a set of unreliable brakes on your car, so why would you want this? The headgear is much better than the other cheap helmet I tried, and at least if you tighten it hard enough it manages to stay in the upright position. The screen is small. There is an unnecessarily large opening at the top, and that would let environmental light/sun/arc get in and distract you.

Nice buy
Iām a welder by trade and this mask is very good for diy welding projects. Darkness adjustment has a good enough range and grinding function comes in handy. Worth the money all day long šš»

Very alarming and effectively makes this helmet useless as I want to keep my eyesite
The one star refers to the paint job : that is all.. The chinglish manual says do not leave in the sun but does not say how to charge the helmet or how to know when it is charged. I got an after image on the quickest and darkest settings when using it to TIG weld.Very alarming and effectively makes this helmet useless as I want to keep my eyesite. When I asked the supplier they said did I turn it on. Err yep. Very disappointed with this helmet and the lack of proper support. Looks nice though. Perhaps I can turn it into a bird bath or something.

Really impressed for the money
This is a great product.I am not a welder but have welded a lot over the years.I had never used a self dimming helmet and am really impressed. When putting it together watch you position the washers to facilitate the helmet lifting. Easy do but just be aware.

Superb welding helmet
Nice and light, plenty of headband padding and easy adjustment to get the reaction speed, delay and darkness just how I like it. I recommend this welding helmet for hobby use, not sure if it's robust enough for pro use but it may be

Cost effective welding mask.
It's light, and darkens quickly. Bit difficult to find the balance point where you're able to see the weld pool, but you're not blinded. It is nice and light, but the head band adjustment is a bit fragile, but it is a very reasonable price.
