Easy-to-do Flower Patterns for Woodcarvers (Dover Woodworking) Paperback – 28 Mar. 2003

The pattern on the cover gives a good indication of the style of patterns inside the book. There are some beautiful designs, with an easy to trace outline drawing and a photograph of the finished carving for each flower. All American flowers, which was a slight disappointment. There is very little instruction on how to model the carving but you do have the photo to look at. Many of the designs are quite fragile and require "stabilising" with varnish to ensure bits do not break off. I think I need to get a bit more experience before attempting many of the designs. However for the price, it is an excellent collection of patterns.

Also das Buch ist gut gegliedert. Jede Schnitzarbeit ist in Schwarz-Weiß Fotos dargestellt, auf denen sehr gut die Tiefe der Schnitzarbeiten erkennbar ist, plus ein vereinfachter Plan. Aber für Anfänger denke ich zu schwierig. Als Vorlagenbuch sehr wertvoll!
