The Stravinsky Piano Collection: 14 Pieces

Rare Russian works can be a chore to buy. Most music shops don't stock them on the shelf as they are not regular sellers.Finding this music on Amazon saved me a long search and a longer wait. The editor's report in this book is comprehensive and invaluable. With such profoundly difficult pieces its nice to have some support and understanding.These pieces can be very difficult to decipher, but the page layouts and division into clefs are crystal clear.

If you're in the process of buying Stravinsky, you presumably don't need to be told that lots of his piano music is ugly, spare, and deformed (wherein, I suppose, lies some of its appeal). Needless to say, lots of it is also magical, beautiful and timeless. Both types of pieces grace this volume. The volume itself has excellent construction, print and quality. A recommended buy for the loyal Stravinsky fans out there, of which I count myself one.

This collection of Stravinsky's piano works is very high quality. The spine breaks gently to allow the pages to lie flat enough to sit properly on the piano's music rack. The paper is bright and smooth, and the type is very clear, sharp, and easy-to-read. And of course, the music is wonderful!
