Easy install on a 2008 Subaru Impreza
Installed on 2008 Subaru Impreza (rear suspension only).Unfortunately I have had a sagging left rear coil since day 1 of my new car. Dealerships wouldn't warrant it since it was within tolerance. But at times the difference between left and right rear suspension was almost 1.5 inches at times. Installation was easy for me because all I did was slip it within the coils. The spacer has a split so it can open up for an easy install. All I did was raised the back end of my car (relieved enough space on the springs), lubricated the spacer, slipped the spacer between the coils, lowered car, and that's it. Luckily the spacer cleared the strut dust boot so the spacer interfered with nothing. I regained approximately 3/4 to 1 inch of ride height. The sagging caused my left rear to have a bit more excess neg camber and was wearing out the inner part of the tire just slightly more than the right rear tire. These coil spring spacers were the perfect solution for sagging springs. Depending on your coil (front or rear) diameter, this can be mounted at the base, top or within the coil. If your coil diameter is slightly smaller/bigger then you have no choice but to install the spacer within the coil. The coils spacer was larger in diameter than my coils but this just made the installation easier because nothing really had to be removed for an intercoil installation. These are the dimensions.Outer Diameter: 6"Inner Diameter: 3 7/8"Both top and bottom of the spacer has a trough to seat the coilsThe overall height is a bit irrelevant but "as is" the spacer will have a height of 1 1/8" as from trough to trough (ie for installing within coil); and a height of 1 3/8" from trough to base (ie for installing at the base or top of coil). These heights are just a bit irrelevant because you expect a bit of compression when the car/truck is lowered. You must consider several things before deciding on this product:- Coil diameter: will it even fit at the base or will it have to be installed within the springs- Coil compression: with the car lowered, do you have less than an inch of space between each turn of the springs? If you have more than an inch, then this will not raise any height but will allow a little more "stiffness" to the suspension.- Coil seating: Is there an appropriate seating for the spacer if you decide to install it at the base or top? If not the spacer may wander off your suspension during driving.- Spring compressor: Do I have one? If you plan to install this at the base or top of the coils you will need to remove your strut/coil assembly. Compress the spring. And put in the spacer.- PLEASE CONSIDER THE STATE OF YOUR STRUTS. Do not mistake the bad coils for bad struts. Be sure that you do not have a strut problem and try to fix it with these spacers. These spacers fix spring/coil sagging NOT defective struts!

Poor fit
These are almost impossible to fit between coils. They were more work than I was willing to put into it so I returned them

just what my car needed
I had noticed that the front coil springs on my 1998 grand marquis didn't have enough travel, there was about 1 1/2 " between the rubber travel bumper and the frame, the ride had gotten harsh like there was the lack of spring travel so I knew that the front coils needed replacement but I wanted to give the rubber coil spring spacer a try before I spent the money for springs and its not that easy to replace coils when working on jack stands and a creeper in a tight garage. The coil spacers went in relatively easy but required a little ingenuity and muscle.I jacked the car and placed jack stands under the frame to allow the suspension to drop all it could,I removed the shocks since I wanted to replace them also.I wiped the coils clean and sprayed between the coils and on the rubber spacer with silicone,wd-40 or another type spray lubricant would work ok.I then took a pry bar and open the coil a little and started one end of the spacer, from there it was push and pull at the same time till the spacer was in place (I worked alone,a helper would have made it easier by opening the coil with a pry bar).Note: I placed the spacers in the middle of the coil and had the split of the spacer at the same spot on each side,it may not matter but I felt that the tension would be more even that way. I am very glad I took that route, the spacers made the ride more like new than anything I could have done beside doing a spring replacement,I am happy with the product and project.

Fit but Can't Verify Any Improvement.
These were simpler to install in my Ford Contour than I imagined. I simply raised one rear corner of my car and the spring was readily exposed, just a foot or so inside the fender well. The gap between the springs easily accepted these doughnuts. I got it into the lower coils, then wound it up towards the top of the strut tower. However, when I lowered the car back to the ground it seemed they were still loose in the spring; I couldn't quite move them but could wiggle them! They certainly didn't add any appreciable height. This is certainly a trait of the springs because these were definitely 2" tall.As for the ride: I can't distinguish if improvements I feel are real or imagined. I used to feel very subtle side-to-side rocking on the highway like water sloshing in a bathtub. Many people suggested it was "bushings" but I had all of them replaced. It certainly seems more stable in that regard. General handling hasn't changed as far as I can tell unless I really stress the suspension; then it seems to stiffen quickly. For example, there's a very tightly curled off-ramp that I typically take at a fast clip. The car doesn't seem to roll as much as before. There's also some speed bumps that seem a little sharper than I remember.Certainly these devices were worth the attempt but for my car the results were not as impressive as I'd hoped.

Does the job
I used these to raise the back of my Toyota Solara to avoid rubbing my aftermarket tires on the wheel well. I put them between the 4th and 5th spring coil which were initially separated by about 1/2". Since these spacers are a total of 1" in height, this gave me an extra 1/2" of ride height which is what I needed. Instructions: Take a look at the springs and determine which two coils you would like spaced apart (depending on how much extra height you want), then jack the car up and slide the spacer in. I lowered the car slowly, checking along the way that the spacer was in place and had no problems. They only took about 10 minutes to install both sides. I've driven about 200 miles on them without any problems, although it has made the ride a little stiffer (this is to be expected since the spring cannot be compressed as much). All in all, I would recommend these to raise your car height from 1/4-3/4" but I would not trust them at the very top or bottom of a coil to add a full inch.

Gave me some lift and firmer handling in Classic Corvair
Product worked basically as described. Was able to wet them with some soap and hammer them in place without removing shock, just removed wheel and let assembly hang. I don't think I got a full inch of lift, maybe 1/2" to 3/4" but car rides a bit better. As others have stated, there are no predrilled holes or zip ties included as shown. If you want to zip tie in place you will have to BYOZ (bring your own zipties) and drill your own holes.

Worth the cost
Worth the cost but does very little, dont expect a full inch of "lift". It has worked well for 6 months now keeping my oversized tires from rubbing my inner fender on my s10. I needed about 1/2 inch and i got maybe 5/8 of "lift" with these on stock springs. They were cheap, easy enough to install and provided a temporary solution for this summer so i could put my bigger tires on. Does what it does, dont expect miracles.

Does the job
I installed a couple of these on my 16 Sorento AWD to prevent it from sagging when towing my boat. They do a decent job. The rear went up by about 1/2 inch. I am not giving five stars because the ad claims 1-inch lift. I should have probably bought a wider one.

Not like pictures shows with holes
They are strong quality but it shows in the picture that there's pre drilled hols to tie them. But there isn't any so be prepared to drill hols or just put zip ties around them
