Best Pepper Grinder!
Finally, I have found a great pepper grinder . I love to cook and have been disappointed with pepper grinders in the past. This one is fantastic because it works so well! The ceramic grinder is of good quality, not too tight or catchy and not too loose. The fine grind adjustment works well for powdered pepper and the coarse grind is also great. Nice stainless steel finish and great little acrylic window to view how much pepper you have left. Easy to fill and use. I would recommend it and am going to purchase the matching salt grinder.

Great looking, functions well, but a weak link causes it to break quickly!
We purchased two of these for salt and pepper in the house and they worked great for a while. After about 6 months, though, the pepper grinder started cracking at the bottom. I thought it might be a fluke and bought a second one to replace it once it broke (and spilled full peppercorns into my food). The second one started breaking just like the first. I would attribute it to the increased force from the pepper since the salt grinder didn't have any issue. The fix? Just replace the bottom cross-member that holds the grinder in place with a piece of metal in the same shape. I took a small piece of scrap aluminum I had and used my oscillating tool to form it into a similar shape, drilled two holes, and sanded it smooth. Took about 15 minutes and I fixed it. I highly recommend you do this when you get it to avoid peppercorns in your food!Update: Something else broke inside it now, it's the part inside that holds the grinding wheel down. These are just too fragile, the plastic can't handle grinding peppercorns, only salt. Get something else if you want a matching set that works for salt and pepper.

So so.
My first impression of this pepper grinder was that it felt a little lightweight and chintzy. It Just doesn't really have a lot of heft.Although it is made out of stainless steel it is very thin stainless steel. To get the pepper grander of my dreams I would probably have to pay two or three times the price. My Mercedes Benz or BMW of pepper grinders would have a little more of that "Fine tool" feeling some of us love. All that aside it seems to grind pretty well and the adjustment actually does change the pepper from course to fine flakes. We were happily using it one day about a week into ownership when for some reason the lower half of the grinder fell off. Not the part that is supposed to come off so you can load the hopper with peppercorns. This was another seam below the clear plastic area where the peppercorns are stored. It was a bit disconcerting and I thought of returning itbut instead I just squirted a little crazy glue between the two plastic parts and stuck them back together. Seems to be staying together so far but I wasn't completely thrilled by that aspect. The people that sold it to me through Amazon have sent me an email and so forth asking if I was satisfied and seem to be the type of company that goes the extra mile.

Terrific grinder, just not exactly what I hoped for
I chose this grinder because other reviews and the description of the product all seemed to be saying that this grinder is capable of very coarse grind. I use sea salt to finish certain dishes and very often prefer the texture and crunch of chunks, rather than granules of sea salt. This grinder does everything its supposed to do very, VERY well. And it's fast - very high volume of output at all settings. But it doesn't get as coarse as I thought it would, so my review of 4/5 stars is in part because of failed expectations. On the up side, it holds a lot of whatever you're grinding and is very easy to load. So if you want your salt fast, evenly ground and in the range of fine-medium, then this is a 5/5 no-brainer for the money. Performs as well as grinders costing three and four times the price.

Very reliable and easy to use
I bought this pepper mill to replace the same brand and model that lasted about 7 years. It is a great product that is easy to use and refill. It is well made and produces consistent ground pepper at the size that you adjust it for. I highly recommend it.

For salt and for pepper, but . . .
I purchased 2 of these Sage grinders for use mostly at the table; one I needed for salt and one for pepper. On the positive side they are very nice-looking and they are relatively inexpensive, hence their attraction on amazon. In use the grinders do feel flimsy though that in itself is not enough to disqualify the product. When used for salt the grinder works well with a grind range of very fine to fine. Its usable even though it lacks the solid feel of a Peugeot or Perfex pepper mill (both I have used and both are quite a bit more costly). The problem with this Sage grinder is when using it with pepper. The grinders are adjustable but the peppercorns never seem to be gripped well by the grinding mechanism. This results in an inconsistent grind. In other words when you want very finely-ground pepper you will get larger flakes mixed in with the smaller pepper bits. When you want larger rough-ground pepper not much comes out with each turn because the peppercorns are never quite grabbed well by the grinding mechanism. You get the idea.If you like the looks of the Sage and you need a basic salt mill, give it a try; it can be OK enough. If you need a pepper mill and value a pepper grind that is consistent and dependably adjustable, I would say it might be best to look elsewhere. Thanks!

Too good to be true.....Horrible design
I was so excited to get this for my Himalayan Pink salt. The look is nice and seems to be made out of decent material. The absolutely ridiculous part is that you open it in the center To load the salt and then Put it back together and twist to lock, lining up the arrows. Well unless you grab it exactly right to grind the salt the thing comes apart in your hands and salt goes everywhere. After a week of use I have given up. Too good to be true.

Can open when grinding
Grinds good and even. Easy to use. Main problem is the way the arrows line up to lock. When grinding it is possible for the arrows to unlock and next thing you know you have peppercorns all over your kitchen. Would have been a better design if there was a cap on the top.

Plastic breaks
I bought 2 of these based on reviews online, not this site. Both of them the bottom plastic piece broke. I had a friend machine out metal ones as not to throw them in a land fill. They work for a little while after that, but then the internals broke on both. I am normally understanding that things break, but both failed in the same spot both times. This is not a product that i can recommend and suggest that people do not buy this

Fair Price and does the job
It does annoy me when I receive items with no instructions enclosed! It was pretty tight to open the first time and naturally one doesn't like to use too much force when unsure of the procedure required. Now we've got it working its OK but doesn't feel like its going to last a long time and we wish we had paid more and got one from a shop?

Great quality, easy to use
Expensive for quality of product, and includes a weird logo on it that I don’t believe was on the photo images. Would not buy again
