A fantastick good and helpfull book
I am not a doctor, but I own around 700 doctor/health books, and this one I bought 4 years ago. The 12 days my wife returned home from a doctor who told her that she suffer from Parkinson's, and gave her the special drug. Then I found the book and started reading. And by reading the book I cound realise that her fatigue, and durng years using scissors for cutting bread (side 161), is caused by the Parkinson's disease; besides her problem by writing signature.I ovn other books, for doctors, about Parkinson's, and waiting to receive 2, but I must say that this book is absoluttely the first to read, easy to read, and extremely helpful/informative.

Relating to others
If you have parkinson's, as I do, or if someone in your life does, than this is a must read. It is full of information for the sufferer, but its most important contribution is in helping both victims of the decease and those who suffer nearby understand what is happening. It is wonderful to have people close to you read this book. It aides in how to continue life on this wonderful planet. I recommend it.

PD what it real is.
The author does a good job of sharing her own experience of having PD. She also does a good job in expressing in a nutshell 13 things your doctor won't tell you about PD.

easily understood, Very practical information provided by 2 people who have the disease. I gave it to my adult children for better conversation about the road ahead. I particularly appreciated the chapter on nutrition.

Helpful yet depressing
Granted, it had a lot of helpful information, but for a newly diagnosed Parkinson's patient, it was extremely difficult to read. I am not ready to be advised to cut my steak with scissors, or talk about vocal cord replacement surgery or some of the other things that are discussed in the book. I understand that the authors are trying to fully explain what might be in our future, but I for one, am forever hopeful and I found this an extremely depressing experience. That is, of course, only my opinion.

This was a fantastic book. Very informative, and didn't scare my loved one who has parkinsons. I have now purchased 5 to give to all my siblings to help us help my dad through this journey. Its the best book I have found out there dealing with PD
