Sticky Fingers English Scone Mix Lemon Poppyseed 15oz

We're into almost all lemon and citrus tastes, not just baked goods but in all manner of foods. Little or big amounts, subtle (think, lemon chicken) or pronounced (sour juices, sorbet), it's all good but can be made better. This scone mix is in the latter category. There's just a hint of lemon and not much poppyseed flavor, so, naturally, I added to it with just a pinch of True Lemon crystals. The idea wasn't screaming sour, just more lemon than was present. Mission accomplished.There are times to strictly follow recipes and times to tinker. These Sticky Finger scone mixes are very simple to make and very tinker-able. For this one, instead of a traditional segmented scone pan, i decided to play with using a basic 8" deep glass baking dish. It required @ 8 more minutes in the convection oven but turned out perfect, thicker/cake-like pieces. While the scones cooled, I made a simple, thin lemon glaze. Who doesn't like a tart lemon glaze, right? Turns out this scone mix is magnificent with that tart lemony goodness on top. [confectioners sugar, dash of lemon juice, tsp. of citric acid, tsp. butter] The cooled scones took the glaze wonderfully (glaze hardens in just minutes; then cut into standard triangle slices).

These scone are amazingly easy, and they taste good. Easy to make....just add water. Bought some as gifts for quarantined pals. Great for projects with kids or when someone pops by for tea or just for yourself.

Good stuff. Tastes good. Good texture but this only makes about 8-10 scones. I thought for $10 I would at least get a few servings out of this but I was wrong. The instructions require the entire bag of mix. This makes a roughly 10" round 1" thick scone that you cut into pie slices. This is a product of the USA and should be a lot cheaper since it's not imported.And don't fall for that "clotted cream" stuff either. These deserve real butter.

Have tried so many different scone mixes. These are the only ones that are so easy and so good. Will continue to buy.

Very easy to make. Clear instructions. I got and made lemon poppyseed. I added a Tbs of lemon juice to the mix and to my icing glaze. They are wonderful.

I've used Sticky Fingers for years! I love all their flavors. I used to be able to find these locally but than I couldn't. Do hlad I can find again.

Our family loves the Sticky Fingers English scones. I decided to stock up on Amazon. I ordered three differenct flavors which all shipped from different vendors. For approximately $12, I was able to get 3 packs of scone mix. I assumed that, given the price of nearly $12, I was getting a multipack from this vendor as well. When it arrived, it was just a single package which I could have purchased at my local Cost Plus for $5.95. Next time I'll read the quantity line more carefully.The scones themself are so quick to make and yummy. We've tried almost all the flavors and they are all delicious.
