Not owning a hookah or being a smoker, I bought these for burning incense in my home. The light easily and burn well. I've only given four start because they seem to give off quite a bit of smoke, more than other brands I've used in the past, and they also seem to burn up quite quickly. That said, for the price, they do the job reasonably well.

These charcoal quick Lighting coal discs are the best I've ever used. They light immediately and unlike other makes I've tried, leave my resin to burn and smell without any odor from the charcoal itself. They do get very hot quickly and so I recommend using a small amount of sand to place them on inside which ever burner you use to help keep the heat down from dispersing from them and onto the burner itself.

Other shoppers may be more savvy but I couldn't get on with these!

great, one of the reviews, according to the AI, says that it has an oily substance in it. I just tested mine because I've bought it for charcoal in a vivarium. I added boiling water to a glass and added one of the pucks. It dissolved to a powder at the bottom with no smell, oil film nor scum on top. I had to qualms about tipping the lot into one of my plants once it was cool. It's just granular carbon.
