Not ready
Is it me? I have had a Smarter wi-fi Kettle from the same company which I love except it doesn't turn off on its own and whilst you can get it to boil remotely, you have to listen out for it boiling otherwise it fills your house with steam. Simply doesn't switch off without voice command or pressing the button on the kettle. Frustrating and I may chuck it away. I understand this may be a common problem. I approached the company about it and they wanted video. I had no idea how to send video so I should have sent it back but it's too late now.Now to the Smarter fridge camera. Attached this device to my fridge, did everything I was supposed to do but opening the fridge didn't cause it to take a picture apart from an occasional flash. However even if it did finally flash a picture didn't appear in the App. The App keeps telling me I haven't taken a picture lately as well. Therefore when I took something out of the fridge it still showed th same picture I took when I first installed the App and the fridge content was frozen in time. And yes, the device is right next to the wi-fi transmitter (2 meters) so signal issues shouldn't exist although intermittently it complained about lack of signal. Even when signal was there it didn't work. The idea is a good one but I couldn't get it to work and I haven't the time to be mucking about with it as it is clearly defective and not ready. Wasted too much time of this. Learning from my previous experience with the manufacturer, this time I sent it straight back to Amazon. Returned.

Worse than useless... Please Save your Money
Where to begin. The price should have been a good indication of what I was letting myself in for here, over £100 off the RRP! They were almost giving them away... presumably to clear shelf space so they could stock something useful as this is garbage.Wi-Fi connectivity is a pain. This will only work on a 2.4Ghz network - So if you are using a BT / Sky / TalkTalk Router, you're going to have to fiddle about with various settings to "split" your network in two... It's not for the technically challenged that... particularly if you're reliant on the connection for some C-19 imposed working from home.Next, it doesn't like SSID names with symbols in... So I had to rename my Guest/IOT network (and then re-set up all my other smart home devices) to get this thing to connect. Then put it in the Fridge, it is larger than you think so make sure you don't put it somewhere which leads to it hitting an internal shelf... or bottle of wine. It prompts you to do some "configuring"... which is all fairly pointless... You close the door, it lights up and takes a picture.Cracking you think, until you get to the app and it says the device has no connection and when you check your router the "Smart" Camera has lost connection. This is because you, like me and literally millions of others, have a metal fridge... into which 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi, does not seem to go with enough strength for the camera to send the picture back to your phone. After some messing about, I put it in a kitchen cupboard and got it to work! See the pictures for how "useful" that low resolution image is...Barcode tracking feature... You have to manually and individually scan each item (on your phone) and say when it's best before date is... Then the app will "track" them. It doesn't recognise and automatically track items in your fridge / cupboard where the barcodes are literally facing the camera. If I were to sum up this product in one word "E-Waste".Save your money.

Works well but does need a decent WiFi Signal (use a repeater) / Helping an elderly relative
Easy to setup and once I realised that the signal wasn't strong enough in the kitchen this was easily rectified with a wireless repeater. The camera fitted inside the fridge easily after following the step by step guide on the app. I guess others didn't follow the instructions or have poor wifi signal which isnt the fridge camera's fault. The camera is very easily calibrated too simply run through on the app and then it allows you to set the position with door open and closed.Just make sure you give it a good charge at least 6 hours before fitting it else it won't work properly. Then when you open the door (for long enough) it will take a good photo and update on the app.... it couldn't be made any simpler.Items can be scanned using your mobile and then manually add a best before etc tag. It was good to be able to enable the flash setting too so in the winter months and overnight the camera can take a good clear shot.Just make sure you take the protective lens clear film sticker off else your image will be rather blurred!Overall this is great and we are fitting one to an elderly relatives fridge so we can help make sure they don't run low on anything during lockdown and we can keep an eye to make sure they have a steady supply of things as they use items. This has been much safer than having to enter their home more frequently than required. If an 82 year old says its cool and it saves them having to remember exactly what they might be short on in their fridge. Any worrying avoided is well worth getting one for £12!!!

Stopped working after a couple of weeks
Very difficult to set up. Worked ok for a few weeks then stopped working completely and will not reconnect despite many attempts. Good concept but totally unreliable.
