Great - just be sure to empty it regularly.
Edit: upgraded to 5 stars from 3. I had emailed the company who responded within 24 hours. They sent me a new bin free of charge and recommended not using the bags. Great customer service. I have great respect for a company that stands behind their product!I’ve now had this bin for 5 months. Loved it - until we forgot to take the compost out for a couple weeks. Had a compostable bag in there and it apparently ate away at the stainless steel??? There are now numerous pin sized holes in the sides. I have to say, though, that it works great (if you stay on top of it). No smell, easy to use, looks great. It’s a nice size also. I’ll probably order another one and just be a little more fastidious about emptying it. I’m just a bit concerned that the stainless steel developed these holes.

Simple to use and elegant
I like that it is not an eye-sore on the kitchen counter and is actually super functional without any smells you normally get from other compost bins. I also love that we could use it easily for food waste as we are preparing our food. It's also pretty easy to keep clean. Every time I throw out the compostable liner bags I spray the can with water and vinegar and wipe it down. That keeps it clean and shiny for the next use and keeps it from rusting or getting grimy all the way around. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to have a functional and attractive small addition to their kitchen countertop!

Nice design, high quality
This is one of the nicest kitchen compost bins - stainless steel with an understated print on the outside letting children/spouses/roommates/house guests what the bin is for. Holds a nice amount of food scraps. About 1 week of scraps for a working person with a 2-person household. A few days for retired people with a 2-person household. Depending how much food you make from scratch and whether you add animal products. Everything is so nicely made - the top fits perfectly and is easy to take on and off. The handle is attached with sturdy knobs and swings nicely. Just feels good in the hand to work with this bin. Easy to clean, except fo the top (see below). I assume the stainless steel will last for a long time. The only thing I don't really like is the filters. They just get kind of gross and wet and I feel they have a lot of surface area for bacteria and mold to grow. So I just removed them - took me a while to figure out you just reach in there and pull them out. The lid was designed for the filters, so it has a lot of area for condensation to accumulate and I don't really like that either. But overall, this is the nicest bin I have had and I like that it doesn't have holes, because holes let in fruit flies and let out odors.

Handy compost bin
I looked around for a compost bin. This one looks nice on the kitchen counter. It’s easy to clean, holds a good amount, has no odor and comes with extra filters. There’s no problem with fruit flies either. The seller made contact prior to delivery to see if we had questions regarding composting & is available after delivery for questions.

Great solution for kitchen scraps - no smell and no flies!
We've been home composting for years now, and it's such a pain to run kitchen scraps out to the compost bin. We used to collect them throughout the day in a bowl, which is unsightly and, if/when we forget and leave them overnight, we end up with icky smells, fruit flies, or both! I've been looking for solutions for years, but have only found either ugly plastic containers that have the ability to filter, or pretty containers that are nothing but ceramic or metal jars. This one provides the best of both worlds - it looks at home on my countertop, but keeps the smells and pests away!My only complaint is that the filters aren't super easy to remove, clean and replace. Don't get me wrong - it's not difficult, but it does take some patience. However, it's a small price to pay for washable and reusable filters you don't need to replace! (THANK YOU to the manufacturer for not succumbing to the razor blade model forcing consumers to buy and store expensive filter replacements!)

The cutest compost bin for your kitchen!
The design front of bin is what caught my eye. It is rare to find designs on the kitchen compost bins. I thought it was a tasteful way to ask for scraps for the compost pile. This was a great addition to my whole cooking process. Just a another step. And it will pay me back in compost gold! This came with gloves and filters too. I originally wanted one -without- the holes in the lid. This unit is one of very few actually, that do not have vented lids. But I also really liked the cute labeling. And the size. Perfect for the kitchen counter corner that collects dust. Mine gets egg shells and coffee grounds only. (I use a slightly larger outside bin for food scraps.) It takes 2 weeks minimum to fill it up. Everyday coffee, everyday eggshells. From 2 people. It is all around a great deal and excellent value while adding a mindfulness to your kitchen. It's has no odor. Despite some folks saying w/o vents in the lid it would. I did learn a ton of info about air circulation in a bin. So far I found that no holes is as effective as holes, in the lid of the bin. No complaints only kudos about this item. Highly recommend! So here is an update. 10-11-19 after 3 months or so of daily use as afore mentioned, my bin has been odor free completely, easy to clean and non descript sitting in the corner of the counter behind the coffee maker.

No odor.
This kitchen counter top compost bin is a perfect size to maintain on our countertops, not too big or too small to manage a week's worth of food scraps and the stainless steel matches out appliances. The stencil design on the front gives the bin purpose, versus a steel can sitting on the counter, and the design is a helpful reminder to toss the food scraps in the bin instead of the of sink garbage disposal. We have had this on our counter top for a few weeks, use it routinely, and no odor has escaped from the bin. Onion peels, coffee grounds, orange peels, vegetable scraps, etc have been tossed in the bin and not one hint of an odor!
