If you're trying to embroider directly on baseball hats, this is a must have. The only way I knew of for using a regular hoop, learned from a YouTube video, was to put the stabilizer on the hoop and then pin the hat to the middle of the stabilizer. This hoop allows you to attach the stabilizer to the hoop (using extra magnets) and then magnet the hat to the hoop without having to try to reach the corners. I found that I can embroider a 100x100mm pattern. Anything bigger and the foot starts to collide with the magnets and the fabric isn't flat enough.In the attached pic I had embroidered too high on the hat, but was able to do much better on the following two hats.Update: use adhesive stabilizer and buy an extra set of magnets and it works even better. Also, make sure you completely unhook the size adjuster on the back of the hat.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased the 4x4 magnetic hoop for my Brother PE800 and it works great! The hoop itself is made out of one piece of metal, making it sturdy and eliminating that annoying jumping sound my plastic hoop makes when I'm embroidering thicker items like towels or blankets. The magnets are heavy duty, so the fabric isn't going anywhere. This is my first magnetic hoop purchase and I honestly couldn't be happier.

Purchased this after trying the 5x7. Both have the same issue: does not make achieving a drum pluck tight hooping any faster, just easier and tool free to put a magnet on. In more instances than not, this frame actually ate up more time struggling fto get a ripple-free stretch. It's more like this concept is riding on the benefits Hooptech gifted industrial machines, this is not the same. Not even close. I have hooped at least 300 sessions with this approaching each one with what works and what doesn't, the conclusion is do not depend on this when getting serious projects or orders clients paid for out the door, reach for the proven hoop and flathead.What is wrong with this design?The frame is a pass, no issues with fitment or structural integrity. Love it.The problem is the magnets.Putting this concept together and going around the corner to source bulk cheap round neodymium magnets for the hustle and then ask for almost $40 is crazy. The craziest part is the magnets included do not provide enough hold points for almost everything, so they conveniently have more magnets for sale.If embroidery is just a hobby and you like blowing money on trinkets and novelties, this is a pretty cool toy.Otherwise, you are risking additional time and money playing with this thing.What would fix it?Neodymium bars inside of a plastic frame with the silicon/rubber on the underside to secure the garment.That's all it would have taken.Two more days of design and walk one extra block to source the bars.This makes an excellent gift for someone you totally hate.

My wife loves it. She was hesitant in the beginning but loved it later. It eliminates at least 2 step's compared to using the old plastic hoop's that came with the Brother machine. She uses masking tape as an additional hold with thr magnets. The height is consistent when the cloth is clipped to the hoop compared to the original hoops.

I have the Brother PE800 embroidery machine. I was able to use this with good results.I like that the magnetic option exists and does work. As others said the holes line up but the hoop does not snap or click into place. You can see that it should be down further in the metal holder. But it does work. UPDATE: out of the blue, after maybe 20-30 uses the hoop clicked down in place! I didn’t’t do anything different so the only thing I can think is that the metal connector was a little snug and loosened with use.I was able to remove the hoop to replace the bobbin and when replaced the hoop was in the correct place. It is held securely and does not wiggle. It moves correctly. I just wish it clicked in.

This hoop number (same as Brother SA443) is one that fits my machine. So that isn't the problem.The metal on the side locking holes is too thick, and the hole alignment is off just enough that I can't get the hoop pushed down far enough for the locking latch to engage on the embroidery machine.So while the holes line up, if they weren't down quite so far, then I could get the latch to clear the top of the hoop and lock. Right now, no matter how hard I push, I can't get the hoop down far enough for the latch to clear the top of the hoop. I can't push down further, as the plastic arm of the embroidery machine is flexing under the pressure, and I don't want it to break. The only way I see around this is if I file down the top of the hoop where the latch touches, so that I have an extra millimeter of clearance at that spot. This assumes that the latch will clear the thickness of the metal at the latching point. I can't be sure of that until I can get the latch to clear the top of the hoop.If the metal wasn't so thick on the side, then that might also help a bit. The thickness just barely clears the widened flange on the locking pins, but not enough that the hoop slides down easily. I compared it to the hoop my machine came with, and the metal is about twice as thick on the magnetic hoop.Also, 4 magnets are not enough. So be prepared to buy more at $15 for another 4. You can substitute other strong earth magnets, but they won't be quite as strong or have the knob shape at the top for grabbing or have the rubber under the magnet to protect the fabric. I bought the small push pin magnets to fill in the gaps, as well as some magnetic name tag backs and another set of the embroidery magnets that go with this hoop.I may cheat and use a cheap hoop's metal connector and attach it to this hoop. It will mess up the centering, but I can make a new hoop grid to compensate. This will involve more money, however. Filing down the top doesn't cot extra, bit it will be time consuming.Overall, I expect a hoop to actually fit better. I've got 5 embroidery machines (single needle home machines and multi-needle commercial machines), so I am not inexperienced.

I am soo happy with this hoop. It fits my machine perfectly and make embroidery so easy.
