So we have 2 dogs and a pool. As a result it made sense to have a long Clean Step runner just inside the doggy door to absorb as much water as possible. I have to say, it's not that different to a regular mat....which is really disappointing because I did a LOT of research on the best absorbent rug. And I'm not being unrealistic here, with dogs running in and out of their doggy door at breakneck speeds, expecting it to soak up the water on their paws with 0.002 seconds of contact; no, we walk on it with wet feet too and it's still not great.Also, the instructions advise washing it in cool/cold water before use. Just be prepared to be picking out loose carpet threads by the fistful from your washer, dryer, floors, clothing and anything else it comes in contact with. it's like cleaning up after a freshly shaved Wookie.Don't get me wrong, it's still a pretty decent rug, and it looks good where we have it (so we're keeping it), but there's nothing about this rug that appears to make it stand out from any other type of rug.

I am a huge fan of clean step mats. I have them at every entrance of my home. Living in Oregon we get a lot of rain and these rugs really do the job!I know a lot of people who have them and don’t speak too highly of them. So I always ask them if they’ve followed the washing and vacuuming step (because that’s the trick to get them to work right) And of course they haven’t.Run it in the wash on cold with no detergent or fabric softener. Tumble dry with no heat. And vacuum like crazy once it’s dry. And then vacuum again.I don’t mind putting in the work because it’s a really great rug!

Not my first purchase of these rugs. I have them in front of every exterior door. They keep everything outside that belongs outside and save me a lot of cleaning.

I'm pleased with the quality of the mat ant that it lays flat and does not slip. Time will tell how it holds up but so far so good.

My dogs come in go all the way along it and a shorter one and still track mud across three rooms of floors.

Everything. Doesn’t wash, breaks apart after trying to wash, doesn’t absorb water/mud at all

Quality is poor. Very thin and threads keep coming off.

Just wanted this for walking in the house with dirty shoes. It began to curl and get stuck under the door almost immediately. I recommend trying to find something more sturdy / heavily weighted to avoid this problem.
