Woodpeckers are the bane of my house's existence (redwood shingles). I had previously tried everything! Every 10 minutes (I set for daytime only) the woodpeckers, which are federally protected so I can't go all "Elmer Fudd" on them, get warned away by woodpecker predator noises and woodpecker distress calls. This lasts for about 20 seconds at a time, and you can control the volume. My first one lasted only one season, and would not start up the next spring, even though it had been stored in a warm garage with no power to it all winter. Doesn't matter, though. I would by a new one every year (especially at Amazon's prices) if I had to. Definitely worth it.

Trying to protect twenty high-bush blueberry bushes from catbirds, and we found this product mentioned in [...]The product description makes it sound as if you can select specific distress and predator calls for 22 species of birds, but that is just not true. There are seven settings, none for catbirds. We have tried using the setting labeled "general" and even though it is all set up according to directions, we have found the birds are very comfortable with the noises, which are just not that loud, and the final insult was finding it covered with blueberry-filled bird droppings. The package states it comes with 100 ft of cord but the cord was barely 15 feet. And it is not waterproof.What a huge waste of money, time and hopefulness!

This is the only thing I have found the keeps woodpeckers off my cedar house. Unfortunately I have bought two thinking the weather was ruining them. Each one would all of the sudden stop working. I thought it was a setting problem. It wasn’t actually the box.... it’s the power cord. It’s made for indoors and obviously this is an outdoor device. I called to order another cord since I have two boxes with no working cord. $20.00 for a new cord. Seems like they would have figured out a weather proof plug. If you are battling woodpeckers they are relentless a day with out this and they are back.

As Mr. B’s review indicated it works. I also live in AZ and pigeons are a pain in the you know what. I bought one of these based mostly on that one review from another AZ resident but frankly was still skeptical. I installed it set it to pigeon and walked away and sure enough I’ve seen 1 pigeon since installing it and that was the first day. No pigeons and we too have a couple hawks now. When it goes off and we have it turned down any bird in the area starts flying.May not hold up as others have stated but it seems to be doing the job for us.No more pigeons around the pool and on the roof etc.

We have issues with woodpeckers on our house. This product looked like a good solution. The "Woodpecker" setting emits a series of sounds that do deter the birds from pecking on our wood siding, but there are some issues.First, one would expect to see woodpeckers in wooded, rural areas, which is where we live. Our area is also prone to infrequent power outages due to a lot of above-ground electrial wires, winds, snow, ice, etc. Problem here is that the system does not hold its settings in a power outage and remains silent when the power returns. This could have been avoided with the use of a different chip that did not lose its settings during a power outage.Second, although you can adjust the volume of the main unit, the volume on any add-on speakers cannot be adjusted and is set to "High", very high. Why could not a simple volume knob have been added to the add-on speakers?Third, rain blew into one of the add-on speakers and then froze causing this speaker to fail. It now just barely emits any sound so I'll have to purchase a replacement. One would think that speakers that are designed to be used outdoors would be more weatherproof.Overall the system is helping to keep the woodpeckers at bay, but this could have gotten 5 stars with just a few improvements.

Bought this and it worked for one day, then quit. Ordered a refund and then old one started to work. I kept new one a week seeing if Old one was going to keep working. Then returned new one. Low and behold one month later and Old one is not working. So frustrated, because I tried to do the right thing. Now they don't offer this damn machine except for twice the cost. You think Amazon doesn't have things going on where items are available for different prices to different people. I believe I am being punished for returning faulty items. So angry at the whole thing.

Product did not work. Battery would die within a couple of hours of charging it. Volume of sounds also did not work. I would adjust volume to maximum but it would barely be audible after playing a couple of seconds. I ordered this to replace one I purchased several years ago that worked great but was starting to lose its volume as well. When I tried to return it I was informed I could not send back to Amazon but had to deal with a third party supplier which was difficult. I purchased this through Amazon and they should take it back no questions asked like they do with there other products. I’m still waiting for a resolution and a return slip.

Only one speaker worked . If I had not needed them so bad due to many birds I would have returned them but I ended up using one speaker. The other speaker just makes a muffled noise. Not impressed as they were expensive considering I only have one .
