One of my most favourite books from childhood!
I believe that everyone, not just children, should have the opportunity to read this exceptional book! It is especially wonderful to use in English/Reading classes. It is an enjoyable book for all readers and I highly recommend that you purhcase this book!

Read it twice the first day and it's already requested for tomorrow
My boys (ages 6 & 5) really like this book. I love it, too. You feel like you're really there in the bakery and you can just feel the warmth of this family. Food vocab is introduced in a seamless way and the illustrations are really lifelike, too. I love the message at the end about pride in both cultures in his background.

love the ending- kids did too
Better than most,... but still a smidge long for the 4/5 year old group, even with small numbersmessage is wonderfulI do wish the intro didn't include a Monday is International Day... so cookie cutter and offensive... it could have been replaced with my school friends are sharing their favorite family foods and it's my turn to share something our family likes to make, or along those lines- a one-time event... set a weak tone that could have been stronger.

heartwarming tale
Lovely multicultural story about a child's wish to bring a treat to school to share that represents both sides of his family..
