Convenient, quality cold brew coffee system. REVISED: Pro-tip
When I describe my coffee routine, people tell me I am a coffee snob, but really, I just like to get the best tasting coffee I can get. I usually take about 10 minutes a day to make myself a coffee with my Aeropress (the whole process of grinding, boiling water and cleaning the unit is what takes the full time) because I literally cannot buy a better coffee than I can make. Alas, I don't always have the time for that routine in the morning. I decided to try cold brew and found this unit which makes it in bulk-super convenient.I made a batch last night with the following coffee-water ratio: 3 cups of freshly course-ground coffee (fresh grinding is key for quality coffee!) to one gallon of water. Total brew time was 11 hours and WOW was it delicious! I was not expecting to be so impressed by the taste and quality of the coffee after only that much time (I thought it would need another day or something) so this unit is certainly convenient for morning coffee binges *cough* I mean sips...I was actually surprised by the size of the filter and took a picture next to a standard disinfectant wipe container for comparison, the filter is huge! I really like the quality of the filter, the weave on it is a cool design and is as fine-holed as the seller describes. The second picture is with exactly 1 gallon of water, so the container is much bigger than it looks. Even the picture doesn't do it justice. You can make a ton of coffee in this thing. With 16 cups in a gallon, this amount of brew should last my wife and I a week I think, which, when added up, saves me maybe an hour or so of time spent making coffee (wow did I really spend that much time making coffee with my Aeropress??).OH! And I plan on using this at my future brother-in-law's wedding! This is gonna be a hit, having super delicious coffee on tap for all us guys. We'll see how long 2 gallons of coffee lasts while we set up that morning! I'm gonna be a hero...PRO TIP: The seal on the lid is so tight that a vacuum will occur causing the spout to fail to dispense coffee. I tried messing with the spout for about 5 minutes before realizing that I needed to release the lid!

Great for hosting or food prepping for the week
*Update* 1 Year later and I don't know if it's possible to describe my love for this product, but I'll try. It makes fantastic Cold Brew!! I have not had 1 issue with this product after making CB on and off over the last year. I don't know how many beans to add, but I normally take a 2lb back from Costco and divide the gounds/beans evenly into 5 separate Zip Lock bags--I used to divide them into 4 but it made the coffee a tad bit too strong for my wife and I. I have even started to play around with experimenting with different effects of the brewing process...Putting some Vanilla Extract on top of the beans in the filter then pouring a cup (or so) of HOT water on top of the beans (like I'd make pour over). I then add the rest of the 2 gallons of cold water and put it in the fridge. (DELICIOUS! BTW!) There is no right or wrong way to make it.The ONLY issue is that it does MINIMALLY leak through the spout after you close it off. That is easily remedied by putting a towel or something underneath it to catch the drips, though. This is true for practically ANY container of this size/model though, so this is not a defect of the product.I slowed down my Cold Brew making in the Winter because #WinterIsMean, but now that it is starting to get warmer I'm picking it back up and will be making it more regularly.*Original Review* If you like/need cold brew in mass quantities, then this product is for you! So far, we have used it once for our family of two and were able to sip on it all week. I'm looking forward to using it for hosting a breakfast brunch in the near future. A couple tips when using it: remove filter before dispensing the beverage (we found that it hindered the flow), and secondly, pop the lid open if you want it to dispense the coffee faster. This is a very good product!*CORRECTION*If you want to keep the filter in, then it does not hinder the flow if the top is popped open.

Great product, though the jug was chipped.
Very fine mesh good quality filter, spigot is great quality, lid and latch also good. Item arrived unopened with a small chip and some scratches in the glass jug. Though minor, with no immediate affect on function, it was off-putting after spending over $50 on the unit.

High quality, wonderfully easy to use.
Didn't think I would ever need 2 gallons of cold brew on hand at any given time but I'm VERY happy I bought this. After having a large family gathering, I can say it was amazing having this full at the serving table and not having to refill or make more every 10 minutes.Highly recommended for event planning and daily use alike. I mean who doesn't love having cold brew coffee on hand? On top of the large size, the filter is fine enough I've never had to worry about getting grounds in my coffee but it also drains pretty quick when removing from the jar so you don't have to stand there forever waiting for all the water to filter through.Lastly, no more buying paper filters! This in and of itself is worth the buy to me. All in all, can't say enough about this and the other kits these guys sell.High quality and again, wonderfully easy to use.

It’s huge! It’s awesome!
Well, just never really thought how much space this thing would take up until I opened my double French door fridge and starred at it for 30s....haa. Thing is huge! It’s well made. Doesn’t seem to leak and easy to clean but make sure to keep the lid from banging on the side of the jug. I love it. Brewed the first batch and sold my cold brew to my friends at $4 /48oz. Cheaper than what they paid for at Walmart. Might make the money back in a few months. lol!

Leaks! But would be great otherwise.
These actually make good cold brews. The water level is always lower than the ground so I have to flip the grounds in another filter.But...they leak around the pourer. I bought two. So..do not buy. A big pain.
