Whalen Santa Fe Kitchen Cart with Metal Shelves and TV Stand Feature

We needed something rugged enough to hold a large 70 gallon terrarium we want to move around to get sunlight. After seeing so many fragile-looking carts costing a lot more, I bought this based on the description. It's way better than I expected. The frame is heavy welded steel - more like an industrial cart - and rated for 100 pounds on the top, and 50 on each shelf. The casters are larger than most and roll easily even over a ceramic tile floor. There was one extra of every single screw, bolt, and washer, every single part was labelled, and the instructions were foolproof. Though the packing box was damaged on the outside, everything inside was perfect. I rarely write reviews, but this cart is exceptional for the price - deserves 6 stars.

Unfortunately when we removed the drawers to assemble the cart there were several cracks in the wood that compromised the cart. We returned it. It is disappointing because this is just what we were looking for. We have received a full refund.

I was very disappointing with the quality of this product. I have purchased this company's 72" work table, and it was of the best quality. This table was made of pressed fiber board, and was in no way what I would want this in my home.Unfortunately we have unpacked the table and there is no way to return, as we could never get it all back in the box.

I have assembled all kinds of furniture and I've never had a piece so difficult to put together. Components wouldn't line up or were bent. The top section with drawers was damaged so they sag in the middle and the drawers stick. At this price point, I don't expect real wood, but I didn't expect the particle board to be so damaged where its crumbling apart. It was so hard to get out of the box, I couldn't even begin to think how to return it.

Easy to assemble with two adults. Looks great. Top part isn’t an actual countertop, so needs some extra care and consideration if using in the kitchen, but not a deal breaker for us.

I put this together by myself. I'm 63 years old and a woman. It took me several hours. It would be a lot easier with 2 people. It's very strong and heavy well made piece of furniture. Well worth the money. I would definitely purchase again.

Love this piece! Ordered it and was expecting to wait a week, but it arrived the next day. Assembled it within an hour while watching tv and used it that night! Thinking of getting a second unit as our kitchen could use more counter and storage.
