I bought a pair of these sweatpants for my husband for Christmas last year and he loved them so much I bought him two more pairs in different colors. They are heavy, comfy, and so soft and warm. He's always cold and we live in Ohio so our winters can be frigid. He says these are the best sweats he's ever owned and the price was exceptional! BUT, suddenly the price increased $7 per pair and while they're still worth it, I'm disappointed at the price increase and haven't purchased anymore since. They wash up great. No pilling, stretching, and they look new a year later (and he lives in them) so the quality is worth the price but they're not the deal they used to be. I paid $8.99 per pair and last I checked they were $16 per pair. That's a drastic increase. Amazon sweats really are the best though and I highly recommend them. Have loose ankles, not baggy but not tight, and deep pockets. They look very nice, not sloppy. Can wear out, at home, or as pajamas. Recommend.

I have to start out by saying I’ve never owned and “athletic” cut on jeans before, but I’m not going back. Looser in the thigh and pockets but straight cut leg- best of both worlds.I ride motorcycles and have thicker/athletic legs. Most name brand jeans fit well but tight in the thighs, butt, and groin. These jeans are excellent- the extra room from the thigh up is a huge blessing on a motorcycle, when carrying a firearm, etc.At 190-195 the 34x32 fit great on or off the bike. I’ve lost some weight and while I have a few extra inches in the waist, they still fit well and isn’t anything a belt can’t solve.The denim is actually pretty heavy- heavier than the Old Navy or Aeropostale jeans in my closet. They can get a bit warm in the summer but are built extremely well. I wouldn’t hesitate to use these as work jeans. They are pretty conservatively styled, so don’t expect Buckle jeans or anything with these.The wife says they don’t look baggy at all above the knee and looks like a normal straight cut pair of jeans. Works for me!I’m pretty cheap and think $30 is a little high for jeans (I’m an outlet store shoot for under $20 kind of guy) but I like these so much I’ve ordered two more pairs in different colors with a slightly smaller waist size for where I’m at now.Pleasantly surprised with these! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them! Order your normal size.EDIT:I’ve had these jeans for the better part of a year now and have ordered other sizes and colors. I’m changing my review to 4 stars from 5 for a few reasons. - Quality control: of the additional pairs I’ve bought, one of them in inexplicably small and tight. Same size as the rest. - Color: while these jeans don’t fade, the light colored ones are not even close to as light as in the pictures. The dark ones are dark, the light ones (both regular and wash) are more of a medium. If you want a light jean these aren’t the ones. - Shrink: these jeans don’t like to be washed. They will shrink if you wash them frequently. I know some people are weirded out by not washing denim. I used to wash jeans every 2-3 wears but on these I’m waiting for 5-7 based on my activity level.Hope that helps make some good decisions! Still great jeans and I really like the athletic cut.

My jeans were beginning to wear out. In looking for replacements, I discovered Amazon Essentials. I purchased one pair and two of another more prominent jean brand. I’m w33 x 30l; 5’9” 150. All three had to be shortened…..the Amazon Essentials are about $30-$40 cheaper than the other brand. VERY COMFORTABLE but are not as trim looking as the more expensive ones. I have the Amazons on now. Would buy them again. - Joe

While these jeans fit comfortably, I was disappointed to see that the blue dye on these jeans rub off on shoes after a day of wear. I have never had this happen with a pair of jeans before, so I'm unclear whether this is due to cheap manufacturing in general or a one-off defect with a few pairs in production. I will be more cautious buying Amazon Essentials jeans in the future.

Too loose for my son. Offered to exchange, but he said he'd use a belt and that's what he's been doing.

I got confused as to which pair was which, the negative review I left for the athletic fit jeans was intended for the slim fit variant. Updated review for the athletic fit is below.These are a fantastic pair of jeans! From quality of material, to fit, to appearance I like them from top to bottom.The material is constructed of a beautifully stretchy material that moves with my body just how I need it to. I have gone through weight swings in the last year and these jeans have kept up just fine. They are breathable, as far as jeans go, very comfortable and they sit well on my waist. I am a big fan of stretchy jean material and Amazon has really hit their stride with this jean.Comfort aside, I think the jeans look great too. When I wear them, I feel like I look good in them, what more do you want? The colours are nice and solid, they have been through numerous washes and show no signs of fading, tearing, separating. They will have a significant bleed of blue when you first get them, even after the initial wash on receipt I found that my hands were consistently blue when wearing them that first time. After a second wash, the bleed was completely gone. If you wear white shoes, be aware that these will leave a blue stain on them if you do not double wash.I work in a chemical environment, and I don’t hesitate to wear these jeans at work. Like any other denim, certain chemicals will make short work of the material, but these jeans have held up as well as any other pair that I own. At such a good price, I don’t feel guilty about wearing them in a harsh environment and potentially ruining them, at least I’ll look good doing it!Value for the money is definitely there, the quality:cost of these jeans is a great balance.I am a fan of these jeans and there are already several more pairs in my dresser!
