Komodo Infrared Heat Lamp ES, 50 Watt

I've used these for years, and they are excellent. However, they can be hit and miss when it comes to how long they last. I have one for my tortoise, it is on every day for 10 hours. They can last anywhere from several months, to a few months and in my most recent experience a couple of days. When they blow, they can sometimes separate the glass bulb from the metal plug, and worst case, shatter the glass. I'm not sure why they cannot improve the design to make them safer, after all, they are used to keep our pets warm.

After only a few months I woke up to find my geckos lamp was not on and assumed the bulb had blown, after opening the tank I was able to see it had shattered into dozens of pieces of glass. This also meant that the metal at the top of the bulb was still stuck inside the light fitting and I had to use tweezers to try and twist it out. Luckily my gecko was unharmed but I’m sure it was frightening. Wouldn’t risk purchasing this ever again due to the safety risk

Fast delivery but could’ve been defective due to not lasting a week, excellent customer service sent out a replacement, so far only had the bulb in three day, hope it lasts.

I have always used this bulb for my tortoise as it is the bulb we originally purchased when we bought our tortoise. I have however used 2 bulbs in the last 72hrs as they keep blowing. I have never had this problem untill this past week.

Works as it should

Only purchased end of December and has just blown again.

Nonostante il corriere in fase di consegna abbia lanciato il pacco in giardino senza preoccuparsi del contenuto, la lampada funziona e risponde alle mie esigenze. La potenza è più che sufficiente per tenere al caldo i pulcini.
