KBS Coatings 4601 Gloss Black RustSeal - 5 Gallon

I bought a 2011 truck recently that had spent enough time in salt that it needed to be taken care of. I sand blasted the frame and a friend at work had recommended KBS. I have never used a product like this. It's almost like it forms a hard shell over the metal, not like just painting it. It came out wonderful and would recommend it to anyone. I am now going to order more and continue up the frame. Word to the wise, use it out of a different container. If you get KBS on the lid of the container, it will not open again. Yes, I made that mistake but this is a minor issue compared to the quality finish you get with this product.

I used this on my saltwater trolling motor. I cleaned all the rust before using this product and the rust is gone. I found that you need to apply very light coats and topcoat it with a UV resistant paint. I used a white Bed liner type spray and love the results.

I used this to protect various parts on my 93 Jeep Yj mostly on parts of the frame and bumpers where surface rust had started to form over the years. I prepped all of the surfaces with a wire wheel, phosphoric acid, degreaser, this product, then I top coated the areas that are exposed to direct sun with a black satin spray paint.This product went on easily, covered well, and after a few coats was as hard as a rock. I'm truly impressed.I choose to store this product in a glass mason jar, instead of the original can, it made the cleanup and seal/unseal process much easier. Just clean the lid and make sure the top rim is completely clear of product before sealing it up, good to go.

2 year review. After removing all loose debri and using a rust converter (rust kutter) I sprayed the frame of my 66 ford f100. It's still looking beautiful worth no bubbles or fading.

getting the lid on and off is a nightmare. It's overly crimped unlike a paint can. Loss about a half a can due to drying. Good product but will look elsewhere next time

I love this paint, no mixing, no priming, low fumes. sets fairly quick and dries hard overnight, from what I can tell, it's like a bed liner coating, very tough, but without the lumps.

This is the second time ordering, mainly because it works just as well, if not better, than higher priced material. Initially used for it's main intent - to prevent more rust, but used the last of the previous can (and started with new can) to paint the bottom 6 inches of dog-eared fence pickets. This will help with premature rot prevention because these board touch the ground. I did this 2 years ago on one side of the yard and so far, not a single board is showing any moisture wicking. I think they are missing a niche in not advertising its use on wood.

Ordered 1 qt. If this product, it arrived but the project hadn't started yet. 45 days later I finally opened the can (still had the shipping clips on it) and the paint was totally hardened. Realized I had exceeded the 30 day return window so I tried to contact customer service of the paint company and 2 weeks later, still no response. Thinking it was a fluke I ordered another qt. from Amazon and it arrived totally hardened. Immediately filed for a refund and hopefully a credit from Amazon will follow. Done with this company unless they contact me and explain the problem. As of now am trying a different brand.
