VonHaus Car Battery Chargers (4A)

Bought to charge up a stop/start battery for a Ford, set up as instructions left to charge, when fully charged, stop/start worked perfectly, been ok since, easy to set up and use, leads to battery could be a bit longer, very good price, more than happy with this product.

This worked straight out of the box. It charged my car battery fully in about 6 hours. That's what I bought it to do. A good price in comparison with others. So far, so good.

Well made and effective to a point. Sadly the battery it was first tried on was beyond saving but that was definitely the battery - the charger worked just fine to put charge into it as best it could.

I have two cars and set the car battery charger up on the car that was not being used,this car is standing under my car port so i had to install a power point outside to use the charger alternately on each car,the cables are all insulated and it is working perfectly,keeping a charge to each car as required.

Seems good quality for a low price, works well so far. Successfully recharged a 45Ah battery from a low charge level overnight and shut off automatically as intended.

good compact model, excellent that it can charge both 12v and 6v, also tried the re-conditioning mode, not sure of that result yet as battery has only been back on the car for a few days

Having owned this battery charger for over a year and having used it several times, I would definitely not buy another and could not recommend it. It is almost impossible to know if it is charging the battery or what. I set it up and come back hours later to find out it has not been charging. There is a mode button which switches between various modes like repair, on, and hopefully charging. There is no ammeter so you can see what is going on. A good example of how modern technology has resulted in an inferior product that lacks the confidence that one could have when using an old fashioned battery charger with ammeter and switches.

Whilst there is a brochure with the charger which explains what the various lights mean, it would have been very helpful if a simple explanatory leaflet could have been with it to guide a new user through the usage of the product, i.e which buttons to press in what order etc, I am still not sure if I have done correctly so far.
