Adventures in Brambly Hedge: The gorgeously illustrated children’s classics delighting kids and parents for over 40 years!

The illustrations are so adorable ! The sizes of these books are similar to an iPad mini ( not exactly ), I read a lot of reviews of different editions and finally chose these. Not sure if the colors of these recent editions are as vivid as the ones from the earlier editions according to some reviews, but I think these little books are worth to have and cherish.

The "Brambly Hedge" picture book book series by Jill Barklem, can be enjoyed by children & adults, alike. I have collected the entire series (total of 8 tiny books) that she first published in1980's and then recently in 2014, 2017 & 2020. I also have the one larger earlier book that contains all the 4 seasons along with Jill Barklem's biography complete with a sweet photo of her as a little girl in England and several of her illustration sketches. These wonderfully illustrated stories of Field MIce and their woodland creature neighbors, are a delight to read. Upon receiving her first book in the 1980's, it has been my tradition to read each of the stories that coincide with one of her story's seasons. JIll Barklem, who passed away in 2017, was such an imaginative illustrator and author. I do believe she now is at play with her friends within the Brambly Hedge.

Beautiful vibrant book covers that really draw you in. Just the cutest perfect lil sizes. For this version, the inside pages are MATTE instead of glossy. The pages almost feel slightly textured and this adds a very quaint/rustic aspect to Brambly Hedge.

My daughter discovered the world of Brambly Hedge as a child, and now her daughter is about to discover it. It is a special world, one that stayed with both of my daughters through the years. I am certain it will affect this 4-year-old in the same way.

Wonderful stories, beautifully illustrated. I felt fortunate to find this set. Brambly Hedge (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall), have been on our bookshelf for over 20 years, since my children were young. It was so nice to be able to buy the set of four Adventures in Brambly Hedge for my granddaughter.

Reminiscent of such children's literature as Mouse & Mole and Frog &Toad (though my 4yo needed a little bit more support to follow some vocabulary) . Innocent, kind, fun, interesting... highly recommend!

These books are great! We have gotten them from the library previously and we enjoyed them so much that I ordered them as a birthday present for my daughter's fifth birthday. My kiddos enjoy them and so do I! I love the details of the pictures and the classic style. I hope to get the rest of the Brambly Hedge books as soon as I can.

Love Brambly hedge, lovely innocent stories that both my children love. We also have the a year in Brambly hedge collection which we prefer hence the 4 not 5 stars

Completely divine. Brambly hedge is as wonderful as you may picture it to be. Just the anti-dote to most of the hectic, sheer nonsense dealt-out now. Stories are first rate and quite 'involved', but not complicated. Utterly treasured by my 4 year-old. The set comes as 4 books in a hard-board slip-case. Books are a perfect size, neither too big nor small. Co-ordinates well with a DVD of the same collection of stories from the wonderful 'stop-animation' style.

The Brambly Hedge books are still so delightful, the stories are endearing and the images so detailed, you can spend as long looking at them as reading the stories. Great books for children and one that adults can really indulge in when reading them to youngsters as well.
