Food for the Soul
David Spangler makes spirituality accessible to everyday life experience. As science gets ever closer to spirituality, and the theory of everything looks like Paul Tillich's "The ground of All Being," Spangler gives simple exercises to connect to all there is. He speaks in a language composed of the recognizeably everyday -- home, family and friends. For instance he describes obstructions in our personal fields as "lint." After I read this I could immediately relate it to my dryer that was taking longer and longer to dry. Finally, we cleaned the lint filter. It was clogged all the way to the exterior exit. We unclogged it and now the clothes dry so fast we don't know how to behave! So I realize if I build up emotional and physical lint, I'll take all day long to function! Spangler proposes exercises that can be done in the silence of a room or at the Mall with people buzzing all around. He has a gift for creating a feeling of peace and love, just in the way he writes.

Very introspective and some new ideas about creation and reincarnation. For new thought students this is a wonderful library edition.

Spirituality without one’s personal integrity cannot be called spirituality
As far as I know, Incarnational Spirituality has been an experiment, and I can feel in it that optimism, kindness, and ambitions of a bit younger version of David Spangler. And if it helped him and his students to live a more meaningful and content life - it is great and good for them. On the other hand, ‘only time will tell’ if there is viability and a lasting benefit in certain concepts or teachings. In this particular case, I am afraid the time is already revealing some serious difficulties. Even David himself is not able to live up to the principles of this teaching and to be honest with his students and followers. What used to be genuine views from his non-physical colleagues have become in the last few years made-up messages to create content for his journals and to keep his image of being a “spokesperson for the subtle worlds” as he calls it in one of his video-talks.When someone loses the contact with his inner colleagues - guides, the beings who have been according to David the co-creators of Incarnational Spirituality, it would be much better to ask himself a question - “After all these years, why have I lost this communication?” - instead of pretending that it still continues or claiming that it has just changed its form. It is unfortunately a slippery slope. Yet sometimes it is probably necessary to experience a fall to be able to hear one’s own heart again.

A clear re-articulation of one central aspect of the life work of Spangler
This book is a clear and concise articulation of Spangler's spiritual work. It offers exercises which help the reader to experience first hand much of the theory behind this book. Spangler is profound and gentle, Incarnational Spirituality can be seen as a practice in being more fully ourselves in deeper relationship with the world around us. I find the book more than a great introduction into Spangler's work, there is more depth to it than one might expect in an introduction, and the pace is comfortable and content rich.
