Live in Munich

I liked this particular Sade 1984 concert performance, However, after viewing the Sade Live 1994 dvd concert ... this Munich show doesn't come close and here's why... with the 1994 Sade Live concert performance she goes ALLLL out ...WoW... she appears totally relaxed...she's even barefoot with all her beauty commanding every inch of the stage like a 10 star General...WoW !!! I mean guys she performs her butts off ... WoooWee !!! Oh and the band is totally top notch in the 1994 Live dvd ... now in this Munich concert it's like night and day ... the band in the Munich concert is rather DuLL and I said DuLL...they don't seem to have any showmanship like her band in the 1994 show which moved and grooved ... even her performance is rather DuLL in the Munich concert ... she seems almost timid most of the time on stage ... hands down this Munich concert can't even come close to the caliber of performance in the 1994 Live concert.

Sade is impecable. The band is phenomanal .Cant fo wrong with buying and having this in your collection of songs to move and inspire.

IMHO this is an important document in the Sade catalog given the time-frame, Oct 1984, and the set list, some of which was likely never played live again after this tour, namely "Sally", "I Will be Your Friend", and "Love Affair with Life", this last track being non-LP. The video is a bit grainy, certainly not up to quality of any of her other DVD's, but hardly bootleg either. I'm guessing it was recorded at a large club in Munich for a TV special possibly. Amazing to see how young all three of her "regulars" look: Stuart Matthewman, Andrew Hale, and especially Paul Denman on bass....he looks like a teenager almost! While they've all changed quite a lot in the 28 years since this show was recorded, today she barely looks like she's aged more than a handful of years from the 25-year old goddess who appears here. Amazing.The band does not include a regular guitarist, and Stuart only plays guitar on a couple tracks. He spends the rest of his time on sax doing what he does best. Ignore the negative reviews....if you love her music, this is a must-have.

TALENTO EN SU MAXIMA EXPRESION.

If you're like me, and love the first 2 Sade albums, you'll love this show. It's a bootleg, no doubt - grainy, with a watermark throughout, likely a TV broadcast, several egregious mic bumps. None of this is up to modern 5.1, 4k standards - at all. But it sounds good enough, looks good enough and captures this band performing my favorite material, touring to support the debut Diamond Life album in 1984. They were new at this, and the nerves show. It's a warts-and-all performance and they're just getting this band started. But the opportunity to see Sade and band perform their classic material so early in their career is priceless. It's wonderful to have some different versions of these tunes to listen to after playing my original 80s copy of Diamond Life millions of times over the intervening 40 years...

As a great admirer of Sade I was very disappointed to get this DVD and find out that it is from a 1984 Munich concert. Additionally there are only nine songs from, what could be best described as a lackluster show. The entire DVD is 47 minutes and not even any extra material. What a rip off. I blame myself as there was no previous reviews and I jumped based on the assumption that it was a concert of newly released material from their Soldier of Love album. Their other DVDs are very good, high quality video and sound. This DVD is not very good in either category. Buyer beware, this DVD is only acceptable if you want an early and short version of a Sade concert.

I purchased this as I am a big fan of Sade. What a big disappointed. Especially waiting 2 weeks for the delivery from the US. The 2011 fooled me... it is a concert with about 10 songs filmed back in the 1980's, poor quality recording.it was like watching Top of the Pops. I wouldn't recommend this item to anyone. If you like Sade I would recommend Take Me Home and Lovers Live dvd or blue ray.... awesome concerts!

Nachdem ich die Schallplatte aufgelegt hatte traute ich meinen Ohren nicht. Diese Aufnahme gehört rein tontechnisch zu den übelsten was ich je gehört habe. Neben dem Hall und der unangenehmen Raumakustik sind schon beim ersten Tittel derartige Verzerrungen hörbar, daß ich den Tonarm entsetzt von dieser "audiophilen" Platte entfernte. SADE singt völlig im Hintergrund. Ihre eigendlich angenehme seidige Stimme kommt überhaupt nicht zum tragen. Die Tittel klingen alle wie erschlagen ohne jede Dynamik. Wer Ihre Platten kennt sollte Abstand von den Kauf nehmen. Meine ging an gleichem Tag zurück.

Great concert with a unique version of "is it a crime" and a rare performance of a "love affair with love". The quality of the image is poor, but it is a must for a die-hard fan of Sade's music! The musicians are fantastic.

Ce concert est lamentable par sa prise de son. Sur le dos de la jaquette, on peut lire DVD en 5.1 son DTS. Hors le son est d'une sourdité absolue. Le son audio est vraiment très mauvais en terme de qualité. J'ai acheté ce DVD pour la fête des mères, car ma maman est fan de Sade, elle a été très déçue dés les premières secondes et ne l'a même pas regardé. Ce qui est sûr, c'est qu'il faut éviter les concerts anciens (la prise de son est trop sourde). J'avais fait l'expérience d'un concert en DVD de Barry White en 1974 toujours en Allemagne, ce fût un bide total également. Je ne sais pas si Amazon me remboursera, mais je déconseille fortement l'achat de ce DVD. Comparer au concert que Sade a fait en 2011, c'est le jour et la nuit.Les concerts made in germany du siècle dernier a éviter !!!

Ich muß mich der vorigen Rezension anschließen.Die LP ist sehr enttäuschend!Auf den Klang sollte man wirklich verzichten...Eigentlich ist es eine Frechheit sowas auf den Markt zu werfen!! Mehr gibt es dazu nicht zu sagen!
