I love the pencils, sharpening them is very therapeutic- you’ll understand if you buy some. The only issue I have is the plastic sharpener, I know you need a sharpener, but I purchased 5 boxes of these pencils so received 5 pencil sharpeners, most people already have a sharpener so for plastic free sake these were unnecessary.

I got these since my old recycled paper pencils were getting short. To my surprise along with the 10 pencils in the pack it had a free rubber and sharpener with it. Strangely both are glued together for no reason. My only issue is the graphite is darker than normal pencils but that's on me for not reading the pack.

Love these, they have a nice feel about them and are nice to write and draw with.

it defeats the purpose of these pencils if every order comes with a plastic sharpener!!!please include an option to NOT have the sharpener or rubber included (is the rubber pure rubber? if not, it’s another hunk of unneeded stuff that will not biodegrade and comes from unsustainable sources).including a plastic sharpener with every order (do they come with every box of pencils!? i only got one box) makes these less sustainable than wooden pencils made from responsibly sourced wood.2 stars instead of 1 because they are nice pencils, lovely concept, and the packaging was all recyclable and compostable (paper)...please include this option (i have read some reviews; your customers are asking for this) and/or replace the plastic with wood/pure metal and perhaps sell it separately as this would mean each sharpener would be more pricey. and let us know what your rubbers are made from, please.i will look elsewhere until this is done. thanks :)

Great pencils but it will jam up an electric sharpener.

Lovely concept and nice product, but one problem... it comes with a plastic sharpener!! This kind of defeats the purpose of me buying it in the first place. I love the idea of newspaper pencils - i give them as rewards to my students, but I'm looking for another brand that comes without plastic

Lovely pencils that don’t break when sharpening. I gave these to pupils and they loved that they were being eco. My only gripes are: these are soft pencils hence need frequent sharpening so won’t last so long; the newspaper print on some pencils appear to have faded. Nevertheless, these are worth their cost, in my opinion. I have now ordered the coloured pencils.
