Ok so I ordered this to hang a very heavy metal plate. It seems strong enough to do the job. I think it is a little overpriced, they sell you two when you order the item, but if you need somethin to hang a heavy metal plate you haven't much choice but to purchase this item. Too bad you can't just buy one expecialy since its very unlikey that most people will ever use the extra hanger.

Just What I needed.

When I received the plate hangers, I attached them to my plates with no trouble. Then I noticed that they are hung by the wire that’s attached to the top of the spring that holds the brackets in place and thought that was odd. I wasn’t ready to hang my plates, so I tested it and, using my finger as if it were the nail, they stayed securely on the plates. I think the clear rubber gripper on each of the four prongs helps. I felt satisfied that they were going to hold the weight of the plates… until I hung them on the wall. The way they are positioned with the back of the plate against the wall, the springs caused the prongs to fall off the plate. Oddly, one seemed to work better than the other. After bending the prongs and making some minor adjustments to their position on the plates, I *think I got them both to work. I will update this post is they fail. I would not repurchase this item, as the weight of the plates works against the hanging mechanism and seems like a bad design.

Wonderful plate stand

I used the holder to hang a decorative glass plate in my kitchen. It holds the plate snuggly and I’m quite pleased!
