RinnaiEX11CTP Space Heater Wall Furnace, Direct Vent, Propane Gas (11K BTU)

I did not want to rely on the electric heat pump on the ductless system that came with my tiny house since I live in an area where winter temps are below zero on a regular basis. I was familiar with Rinnai products since I had previously purchased a Rinnai gas water heater. This product was the perfect size and since the house is a total of 400 square feet, the specs claimed that it would heat the entire space. I installed it myself but the installation instructions that came with the product were not great. In searching the internet I found a YouTube video that clearly demonstrated how to install. I watched that a couple of times and without that video I would have been lost and would never have been able to self install. With the video the installation was very easy and straight forward. It took me less then one hour to install and get it running. My tiny house was delivered in January and the temps were in the teens and less every day. The first thing I did was to install the Rinnai wall heater. Once installed I turned it on and set it to 68 and left it for several hours. The outside temp was 10. When I came back a few hours later the interior temp throughout the entire tiny house was 68. It is now the end of February and it has been on and heating for over a month and it has been perfect. I am totally confused when I read reviews that complain about the noise. My unit is almost completely silent at all times and performs perfectly even when the outside temps dropped to 18 below zero. The heat is pretty much even throughout the house even in the bedroom which is in the back. My house has an upstairs loft and that is warm also which is not surprising since the heat naturally rises. This is the perfect heating unit for tiny houses like mine and so far (fingers crossed) I can not find anything about this product that I do not like.

Fast delivery, no damage, runs like a champ.

My employer recently purchased one of these and it is not functioning correctly. It will not sufficiently heat a tiny space. Where it should read the room temperature it’s says “L”, which isn’t something covered in the manual.All I can tell is it’s somehow functioning in a lesser mode when that is displayed by looking online.Help!

Quiet and efficient.

The heater worked very nice the first months of use. After that it started to smoke a lot and then it did not worked again. I have tried to have it serviced by the warranty of the manufacturer RINNAI but they TERRIBLE SERVICE.

Remodeled a cabin on my property and needed a heater powerful enough to heat 3 rooms. This Rinnai does the job and then some. Plus it's very attractive and easy to install. It does make sound when on but not very loud and easy to get used to! Highly recommend this high quality heater.

Item arrived with a corner ding affecting the front cover and the left side cover. From the appearance of the box, it was obviously from rough handling during shipping. An item as heavy as this deserves more protective packaging than this one had, so I only give it 4 stars. The Samsonite suitcase gorilla works at every delivery company these days (yeah, the 70's commercial). I will update the review after it is up and running. The dings are cosmetic only, not affecting function. I'm hoping I can find replacements that aren't too expensive so I don't have to look at the ding for the life of the heater.Update - I found replacement panels for the dinged front and side at Supplyhouse. Reasonably priced, but order was supply-side delayed. Installed heater, works like a champ. I recommend ordering the wall thermostat option. The on-board temp control is adjustable only in 2 degree increments. The temp sensor is mounted at the lower back of the heater. The control displays the room temp and set temp. The room temp was always about 4 degrees lower than the actual room temp and slow to respond, over heating the room before cycling off. This is due to the sensor location. After installing the wall stat kit and my thermostat, the temp stays exactly at the set point. It should come with the remote wall mount kit and a tstat. Otherwise, this is a high quality, efficient appliance and I recommend it.
