Some Good Info
I have to admit I am not in the credit collection business. I decided to read this book in the hopes of learning more about the credit system and how creditors work - maybe to get a little inside info. Overall, I ended up finding this book pretty interesting and can imagine it would be a good help to those in the industry.

Not impressed
I haven't made it through the entire book yet, but I don't like Ms. Dunn's style. I can't imagine that anyone would feel inclined to respond to the sample letters included in the book, particularly with such condescending shots as "The choice is yours, please act wisely."UPDATE:I have finished the book and it has not changed my rating. There are many redundancies in the book - literally, the same paragraph is repeated a few pages later, and this happens conitinuously thought the book. It does not appear that it was edited at all: misspellings, fractured sentences, truncated sentences. Overall, it felt like I was reading someone's brain dump: they had so much information in their head on a subject and they were so eager to share it that they poured it out onto paper and then forgot to go back and edit it.As for the content, the vast majority of the book is a reprint of laws applicable to collections, sample letters and contracts. Of the other content, it primarily discusses whether a business should grant credit to another business customer (e.g. you are a supplier to another business) and very basic information about following up on those types of delinquent accounts and whether you should continue to do business with them in the future. For myself, I was looking for a book that would give me strategies to collect from individuals (no credit), skip tracing, [quality] letter samples, etc. This book was not for me. I gave the book two stars because aside from the lack of quality, some supplier businesses who grant credit may find some slightly useful information in this book (although I thought the information given was mostly just common sense).

Substantive ... thorough!
I hardly comment about books I read but I would like to share my impressions about this book. If you want to know of the 'nuts and bolts' on 'credit and collection', this book is an excellent guide. Ms. Dunn does not beat around the bush, she hits the important points straightaway and very simply without the 'unnecessary' verbiage. If you are more into great writing style ... and perfect grammar, you'll definitely miss the essense of this excellent guide.

More about consumer credit than business/trade credit
More about consumer credit than business/trade credit. Certainly had some useful info and since I rented it on my kindle, nothing lost.

Unfortunately I bought two of her books
If you are thinking of spending your money here, DO NOT DO IT! As in the other book by the same "author", and I use the term loosely, the information is vague and reads as if she has copied information for a (poorly written) school research paper. Spend your dollars elsewhere.

A Must Have for the New or Experienced Collector
Michelle Dunn offers most of the "how to's" necessary to be a successful collector. This is a quick-reference guide that is essential for any collector regardless of experience! Ms. Dunn shows how to get the debt resolved effectively and efficiently without beating people into it,the way it should be and CAN be for every collector! As the owner of a consumer collection agency I highly recommend this book and am having my staff read it as well!! Thank you Michelle!

Mostly letter templates and laws
Full of information on US based state-specific legislation related to collections (which can quickly become outdated) and letter templates. There’s little practical application advice in the book and I found it to be of very limited use. Disappointing overall.
