The greatest Ranger of them all is back!
And that was my major incentive for trying this, & it's definitely in my top 10 Power Ranger series. And since this had bonus Ninja Storm episodes, it was like killing 2 birds with one stone. Here's a review of the episodes, with synopsizes from Wikipedia.497-498. Day of the Dino: Former Veteran Power Ranger Tommy Oliver takes a teaching job at the city of Reefside years after escaping from an ordeal with the evil reptilian monster Mesogog, and is assigned to look after three detention students: Conner McKnight (soccer star), Ethan James(hi-tech prankster) and Kira Ford (singer). During a trip to the museum, the trio stumbles upon a secret hideaway and find the magical Dino Gems. Kira rejects her Gem soon after, only to be abducted by Mesogog's forces. This is a great start to the season. A499. Wave Goodbye: Conner resigns his position as the Red Ranger when his Ranger duties interfere with his dreams of being a soccer star and cause him to miss an important try-out. However, he reconsiders after saving a little girl from harm and defeating Mesogog's Birdbrain mutation with a little help from his fellow Rangers and the Raptor Riders given to the Rangers by Tommy. Meanwhile, Mesogog kidnaps Tommy to force him to unleash the power from within a stone. Not as good as the other episodes on the DVD, but not bad. BThere's also the 2 bonus Ninja Storm episodes.495-496. Storm Before The Calm: The Rangers are selected to showcase their respective talents in the US Action Games. Meanwhile, Lothor prepares the final stages of a scheme set in motion by destiny itself, as he seeks to unleash the evils within The Abyss of Evil, hidden beneath the site of the Action Games. The Rangers face their greatest challenge. This is an excellent season finale. I shall definitely check out the whole season on the boxset with seasons 8-12. A+Not a bad buy for a penny plus shipping & handling.

DinoThunder- the long awaited return of Tommy!
Power Rangers Season 12: Power Rangers DinoThunder is the best season in years. This is the 2nd season of Power Rangers filmed in New Zealand. The Plot is very good, but what really makes it good is the return of Jason David Frank aka Tommy from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, and an apperance in Power Rangers Wild Force. In the Past Tommy was Green Ranger, White Ranger, Zeo Red, and Turbo Red. This season he returns as Dino Black. Since Tommy left, he went to college and over time bacame a doctor. Now, as a high school teacher, he recruits 3 of his students to become Power Rangers to fight the evil forces of Mesogog. This DVD will include the first 3 episodes of DinoThunder and the last 2 episodes of Power Rangers Ninja Storm.

Power Rangers Dino Thunder, Vol. 1: Day of the Dino
For my son, this DVD is perfect! It incorporates three things he really likes - dinosaurs, robots and anything that transforms! He wanted me to rent Power Rangers Dino Thunder, Vol. 1 so many times, I decided to buy it.My son really enjoys the action-packed, fast-paced episodes on Day of the Dino. The subplot is rather interesting (yes, it actually does have a subplot), the acting is pretty good and the guy who plays Dr. Tommy Oliver, who in my defense was 31 when he did the show, is enough to hold my attention. After watching the last episode so many times, I had to break down and buy Vol. 2 (another must see) so we could find out what happened next!
