Pain relief!
I have always had foot pain while snowboarding. I have a slightly wide foot that required me to blow out/widen my ski boots at their widest point in order for me to be able to ski comfortably. The problem with snowboarding is you can't permanently blow out the boot because it isn't rigid. I have spent countless time and $$$ trying to find the right combination of gear and fitting to mitigate the pain as best I can. Shred Soles, the first generation and now the better second generation, are an integral part of that solution. The most important feature is the canted angle that put more of the pressure on the bottom of my feet instead of the outside, and the heel cup keeps my foot stable.
