From a simpler time, houses between mansions and tiny house sizes.
Saves studying all the designs in CAD software, pick the one or two most suited and merge the ideas.

Huge Houses
These houses were not typical bungalows in that there were no basements in any of them and they were way larger than typical. Pictures and type were large and clear, however.

Fun for daydreamers
This is a book of bungalow plans that were designed and built around 1910. Most of the plans are one story, often having only two bedrooms and one bathroom. There is even one plan that has no bathroom. It's interesting to see how our lifestyles have changed. With one exception all plans include a dining room, which is often larger than the living room. The kitchens were small, with no space for a table. I'm okay with that, but these are not the eat in kitchens we expect today. It is funny to realize that in the days before convenience foods, when meals were prepared from scratch they had those small kitchens with very little counter space, and now we think we need miles of counter space, even though we cook less. For each house there is a photo or a drawing, a brief description of the features, and complete floor plans. I found it helpful to read this Kindle book on my ipad instead of my Kindle so that I could zoom in on the plans, which were smallish.I found a couple dozen plans that I could very well imagine being suitable for myself with very few changes. I really enjoy imagining how I'd adapt these houses if I owned them. Just a fun book for daydreamers.

Historic reference
Great book of floor plans for early 1900 bungalow style houses. Dover puts out some really nice reference books. This one is no exception. Mostly single story dwellings but there are a few examples of two-story houses. Each plan typically consists of a B/W photo of the front exterior, a short description of the features of the plan, and a simplified floor plan. There is a section in the back of some interior photographs to give you a feel for how these houses were finished out.I really enjoyed reading through this book, and getting an idea of the original condition of some of the houses that still exist today. Makes you think how something designed & built over 100 years ago is still around.

Recommended for those who like early homes.
I love these books about the construction and layout of these early homes. This one was especially interesting since I'm a big fan of the Bungalow style.

great, but not what I thought it was.
I love bungalow style houses and plan on building one of my own. I bought this book to get floor plan ideas. Once I got it and started looking through it I realized that it is plans from 1910 that have not been updated. As far as ideas go... it's great. The houses in it are very beautiful.

It's not exactly like a Sears Roebuck catalog but on almost every page
It's not exactly like a Sears Roebuck catalog but on almost every page, it has a description, a floor plan, the drawing of the house, and the house number. Most of the floor plans are from 1910.

This plan book hits the mark
I recommend this book. This book hits the mark and sets a benchmark for what a historic house plan book should be.It is well illustrated and the plans are such that I could see myself possibly building or living in a bungalow such as the ones in these books as most of the plans in this book are eminently livable (except for the plans lacking bathrooms). It’s a shame they don’t build like this anymore. You may notice a toilet room off the kitchen and that it has no sink. This would be the servants toilet but it wasn’t a racial thing it was solely socially class oriented. The fact was that these houses were built by middle class people without servants and by including it they could pretend to be of a higher social class then they were and they’d say they gave the butler the day off if you enquired about the lack of help even though they had none.I highly recommend this book, if you are interested in older eras architecture or society in times past. The plans are easy to read and the pictures are excellent. For the most part, these are houses you could build in and live in today well laid out livable and practical. Just remember to get the publishers permission if you want to build one or a derivation of one.I recommend this book for those who like older houses, those who like older style floor plans, those who are looking for inspiration or those who like photos of older homes.
