I didn't have any problem with assembly , the directions were adequate.I read reviews before purchase and many one star reviews are about pump failure. Maybe these failures are from debris getting into pump I thought. So what I've done is I cut up a scotch brite into maybe !/2" squares (use only the scrubbing part of the pad not the sponge) and I rolled those cut pads and put them into the water return cutouts this allows water to flow to pump but restricts debris and I pretty much guarantee you'll get stuff in the water so I highly recommenddoing something like this. EDIT: After 4 days I noticed pump was barely pumping so I had to re- do the filter, I had to disassemble the fountain I wrapped the pump with scotchbrite pad and reassembled...I know this will be a frequent maintenance issue the filter WILL help but I'm sure it will require periodic disassembly and cleaning. Maybe stuffing like what's in a stuffed animal or dacron from a pillow placed under the dome cover for pump will last longer before needing maintenance?

I liked the size, design and affordability of this little fountain. I have a small deck outside my room that I made into a retreat as it’s enclosed with bamboo reed screen for privacy and ambiance. After adding seating, many plants, solar lights and other decor, I wanted a water feature, specifically the sound of water cascading.I needed something that would fit size wise and of course, look nice. I found this fountain and felt it fit perfectly for all my wants and needs, it is very budget friendly and arrived in just a couple of days. Upon its delivery, I immediately unboxed it to assemble, which was quick and easy. I know others said they needed to make modifications but I just followed the directions and it went together easily and as expected so, maybe there have been adjustments made on their end?After assembling I filled full of water before turning on and once plugged in, it was just as advertised and water was cascading down from the top tier into the bottom bowl. It looked and sounded great!I was very pleased with my purchase and took video which I sent along to friends and family who were all surprised at its price point and thought it was really cute.I don’t keep it running continuously but only when home and have my door open so I can hear the water. I sit out on my deck in the early mornings and in the evenings after work because it’s so relaxing, the fountain definitely helped me achieve the goal of creating a nurturing and relaxing space.Then this past weekend I noticed the water level was rapidly dropping and then noticed my rug was getting soaked. I unplugged it immediately to investigate what could have happened? I had not had any previous issue whatsoever with its performance at all. I refilled it back to the recommended level in an attempt to try and find the leak but couldn’t seem to locate it. I kept trying for a couple of days as I was really bummed not to have my water feature…I just couldn’t figure it out and I couldn’t use it anymore so, I got on Amazon to see what could be done…the 30 day return window had come and gone, I was bummed.I decided to reach out to the seller & honestly, was not expecting much but boy was I pleasantly surprised.Not only did they get back to me in a timely fashion responding right back to my email. They acknowledged my issue, verified my purchase and told me not only that a new fountain was on the way but not to worry about sending back the old one and to keep it for parts just in case! Wow!!!Not what I was expecting or what is typical, GOOD customer service is hard to come by and because of this, I would not hesitate to buy from this seller again.I had already shared videos etc with friends and family as previously stated and I know at least one of them want to purchase the same fountain. I will encourage them to do so for sure.It shouldn’t matter the cost of an item purchased, it should perform as promised and if not, it should be made right which was exactly how this situation was handled by the seller, with integrity and professionalism.What an all around good experience it has been to buy this product from this seller, I’m stoked on the fountain and the seller👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👊🏼

The birds tried & tried to love it. But I never saw them attempt to bathe once, with the water on OR off. Maybe the bowl is too deep; maybe the movement of the water is too violent -- either way, they flittered uneasily around it for 3 weeks, or simply avoided it entirely. Worst of all, I had to purchase my own nuts/bolts from Lowe's because none came with the packaging -- AND I had to prevail upon the kindness of a professional in the construction business, who luckily was a friend & didn't charge me, because the manufacturer had GLUED one of the nuts to a crew IN THE WRONG PLACE, necessitating a table vise and a special solvent even to screw the pump into place at the base of the main bowl. AND they glued the power cord at an inconvenient angle, requiring you to use awkward force to hold the pump in place. As a consequence, I would not rely on the longevity of the fountain EVEN IF it had been designed more thoughtfully for the birds' pleasure. AND -- the power cord --which is too short in the first place -- sticks out of the base in such a way as to leave the fountain permanently at an uneven angle. Which affects the way water cascades down the sides of the 3 bowls. All around, this item has serious design flaws, besides the egregious sin of not putting all the necessary parts for assembly into the box in the first place. It's a shame, because it's pretty and had great potential. Also: it would do a lot of good for them to place SOMEthing in the base-- some kind of heavy polymer perhaps -- to keep the fountain from being top-heavy. Greater weight at the base would make it secure in a stiff wind, which it definitely is not now. The manufacturer has a lot of re-design work to do, to make this a worthwhile purchase in future.
