I have tried other pumice and sand perches in the past, and my birds refused to step on them. This one has a smooth top, so their feet don’t touch the rough part when using the correct size. My bird was hanging out on it within a day, so hopefully it will help keep her claws in good condition. This is a size small, and it is okay for my cockatiel, but maybe a bit too big for my green cheek conure.

I would like it, except that the connecting part dosn't fit between the bars of the cage I have so it can't actually be put into the cage. Unless you have a very large bird, with very wide set bars this won't work for anything less than a macaw cage. I as pretty sure I got the small perch, so I would have hoped the connecting piece might have been a bit smaller.I'm not going to return it because it's to much of a pain, but I'm finding a hard time finding something for this perch. Maybe i can hook it to something else around my home...

I have purchased these twice for my two parakeets. I adopted them after they were dumped in a box in front of a local pet store. They are very timid and easily spooked birds. Therefore, I feel terrible causing them any extra stress than needed. Their nails were starting to get lengthy and I wanted to try an alternative before I took them to be clipped. These perches have saved them the stress! Their nails have been filed down to an appropriate length without causing them any stress.

My bird took time to use it but now use it all the timeNot too happy about the plastic thread and nut. It’s only suitable for vertical bars, had to modify for horizontal bars.

Samson loves his new perch!It was easy to install. In fact, it was the easiest perch I have ever installed. It is sturdy and robust.

I got the small size for my parakeet Ranger who is leery of anything new in his home. But he's also curious so he tried it out and then went back for seconds so he likes it. It fit snugly and seems well-constructed.

Well what can I say Muffin loves it and I will purchase more of these for him and so easy to clean, also great for him in that it's not a straight perch so it's exercise also.

Our birds favorite perch now. Great for filing down nails without having to tackle your bird and make them uncomfortable for a trim. This perch keeps their nails under control.
