Amazing lens
I am impressed with the quality build, the amazing photo quality (plus they are fun pics), and the practical price. The electronics work well on my Nikon D810. Remember to set the aperture to f22. I bought it new. Very glad I got this lens. I also have 14mm weather sealed,wide-angle by Rokinon. All of the above applies.

THE BEST Fisheye available for Nikon FX cameras!
Amazing quality for a reasonable price! ultra sharp and amazing color rendition, it's THE BEST Fisheye available for FX cameras!, you DO NOT need autofocus for a fisheye, put the focus a little before the infinity mark and stop at f/5.6 and it'll be ultra sharp with everything in focus from 1 feet to infinity, the Nikon version has the focus confirmation chip so even with manual focus the camera will indicate when the area you need IS in focus, close the aperture ring and you can also control aperture with your camera controls, and all the exif data from the lens is saved on your raw files so you can do more precise editing later or defish it with sowftware

Works well, great quality lens for the money
Just had to set shutter to release if no lens detected. Takes great wide angle photos!

Nice lens, pretty reasonable price
A 12mm Fisheye produces a very specific look. If you like the look, you will like this lens. I'll leave it to others to discuss its technical merits, but for me it has produced very nice images. I tried the Canon 8-15 f4L lens for $1350 but found I was usually shooting in the 12-15mm range because the look is very gimmicky at super-wide 8mm. So I returned the Canon and got this for around 1/3 the price. I'm very happy with it. I've not engaged in comparison testing, but I'm as pleased with the images I get from the Samyang as the ones I got using the Canon lens around 12mm. It's a manual focus lens, but focus is not really a problem. I mostly leave it focused at about 3 feet on the range scale and shoot away. At f5.6 most everything in the frame is in focus and at f8 and above you will have sharp focus from your feet to at least 60 feet out. I've had success shooting street with it by hanging the camera around my neck and firing the shutter with my thumb from my waist while walking around. Nobody knows I'm shooting them as they do when I haul that big DSLR up to my eye. If you do this, everything in front of you will be in the shot and in focus, so you can pretty well compose the shot without looking through the camera. (Well, you'll likely need to crop the edges.) I like the look of the images I get with this lens on my full frame Canon 5DII, but I did not care for the look I get with the crop-sensor Canon 7D, where the lens behaves like a 19mm. There is nothing wrong with the image quality, its just a matter of taste. This lens is not cheap by any means. At least it seems well made. If you like the fisheye look, this is a good way to get it at a not too exorbitant price.

Very good non-circular fisheye
Totally met my high expectations! I have a 12mm regular wide-angle lens as well but, I’m having more fun with this fisheye. On smaller / tiny displays, fisheye photos are great! A regular wide (non-fisheye) lens needs a super large display to show fully off its amazingness.

Great lens
Incredible lens for the money. Be advised that even though it is full-frame, it is still a fisheye and you may need an advanced panorama stitcher for things like little planets. A 14mm rectilinear lens needs more shots but stitches easier.

Not as expected - but gets the job done.
Based on the reviews I purchased it. Looks cheaper (obviously it is). Feels okay. Takes photos that would look like it is attached on an APSF not a full frame camera. In regards to aperture ring, I played around to get as better pictures as possible but none of them made me feel happy. Just a fisheye lens. It would not live on the term Ultra Wide. Did not enjoy this lens and probably returning it if the Amazon return time permits. May be you will get better results in a bright daylight. Not for the environment that doesn't have enough light.

Cool effects, fast lens; manual focus not a problem
My first fisheye. I like that the distortion is less than conventional fisheyes (this is a different technology, but don't press me on it). I needed the f/2.8 lens because I'll mostly use this to shoot bands in dark bars. I'd like it even faster, but it works and the bands have loved the effect. Manual focus is sort of a pain but only when you try to get in close--if you're 6 feet from the focus point, you're good to infinity (even at f/2.8). My biggest problem is that the focus ring is so easy to turn that it doesn't stay on the infinity mark--so check yours regularly if you're shooting in a dark place.I've had a couple of other Samyang/Rokinon lenses, wide-angles for astrophotography, and they're great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one, and if you're in doubt, hey, give it a try. You know Amazon will take it back, and I think you'll be very pleased--with this fisheye or the other Rokinon/Samyangs.

Great lens
So first off it’s manual focus manual aperture lens which takes a bit getting used to as when I look through viewfinder I find it hard to see if it’s sharp where I want it to be .I’ve got used to auto focus .But I love the effects you get with it I use it with full frame canon 5D Iv the results are amazing full 180 if I point camera straight ahead shooting portrait mode the bottom of my legs and feet are in the shot .I reckon I can get some great shots with this to be honest , it’s a well built lens and came well packaged up with a pouch in the box. It’s early days but for the money I don’t think you will better this I guess it’s great for street photography which is something I would like to try it with5* from meThanks

Brilliant Quality, Brilliant Images & Brilliant Price
I got this for my father & I to use with our canon eos cameras. 7Dmrkll & 70D. Since we own one of the sharpest lenses on the market made by Samyang(yes on the market) the 85mm XP we knew that this one would be good too. It is. Great build quality second to none, sharp images with very little distortion for such a wide angle. The best thing besides image quality is the price. Samyang lenses compete with all the big name lens manufacturers but at a fraction of the cost. Could partially be because most of them are fully manual but even their new autofocus lenses are reasonably priced compared to the equivalent canon or nikon. So I can comfortably say that you shouldn’t fall for brand snobbery and give third party lens manufacturers a chance. Do your research like with any big or expensive purchase but don’t turn away just because they aren’t from the big 3 manufacturers. Samyang, Venus, Sigma & Tamron all make professional quality lenses that compete with or surpass the quality of lenses up to 3 times the cost. Enjoy your lens everyone we sure are. Happy photography all!

Amazing
bought it to try capture Milky way. it was amazing. The place is not very dark, but the lens was able to capture a tone of light. and the fisheye effect was beautiful.Wish i had it earlier when northern light hit our place in May.
