Highly recommended.
A well written and very engaging and entertaining dystopian novel that has everything - love, action, humour and suspense - a well spun tale! I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Well Worth the Time-Excellent
Normally, book series that start with long books tend to get much shorter as they progress. Apparently no one ever bothered to tell Vera Nazarian about this. Win comes out roughly 930 pages! A big part of me wanted to walk away from it..that's just way too long. However, I was invested in the characters and--though I had a general idea how it was going to come out--I had to see how it all came together. And it was well worth it. Despite the violence and the incongruous fanaticism the Atlantean people have with these ridiculous and bloody games, this book is amazing. I'd almost say it's the best of the series, but every book is equally excellent on its own merits. You will fall more in love with Gwen, the lead character and hero (heroine, if you will) of the series, as she refuses to give up or accept defeat.I went into this book wondering how Nazarian was going to come up with these four different stages of competition in any thorough manner, but she does not disappoint. The detail and well though out scenarios are stunning and gripping. More interesting characters are introduced, and old favorites reappear, and all are likeable and compelling. The only character I didn't like was the Imperator, who I really just wanted to do away with constantly.Besides the recurring question of why this supposedly evolved and morally superior race of humans would so love these stupid games--and, worse, the gratuitous violence that ensues--the only real criticism of the book and series is the lack of development of the various nations on the planet and how they relate to each other--specifically what the Imperator has to do with the rest of the nations on Atlantis.Overall, a thrilling read, well worth the time, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Now…can I get through the next book, which is even LONGER?

Free At Last....Until Book 4
Finally, I have finished!! I have been entranced by this series for the last three days and finally, I have been set free! For the final day of book three, I have been trying to squeeze this book in at every moment. Red light? I have a few seconds for a passage. Drive through? No problem my face was so involved with my Kindle that I got honked at to move up. Work? Every bathroom break consisted of me and some few gracious moments with my kindle and this book. I could go on and on about how I treasured every second I had available to read this incredible book. There was action (lots of action) and some sadness (not much though) that I even shed a tear or two towards the end. The romance was hot but not "let us jump each other's bones now and worry later" and the comedy had me laughing to myself at strange times. Once again like all my reviews of the Atlantis Grail books is that I do not like how Vera describes the challenges or the people. When Vera tries to describe the places or the people they kind of fall flat for me a bit because either she under describes the males and in my mind, they all look like hunky dark skinned males with no true facial features or she tries to describe the surroundings and leave pieces out making some of the layouts impossible to image (just my opinion though). When I read I like to be able to imagine what the characters look like and where the characters are so that I can better connect. Also another negative for me is the that in most of this book the heroine gets mostly by on luck. Gwen is definitely smart but her luck sometimes is just too much! For this book though the good definitely outweighs the bad and I have to give this book 5 stars. If I could give more I would. I truly fell in love with this book and I encourage anyone reading this to please not read the summary that everyone else is giving and just take the plunge and keep it moving with this series. I will end with that I am not somebody who will summarize the entire books for you in just one paragraph, I am just an avid book lover who wants you to continue this wonderful experience and enjoy this book the same way I did. You will not be sorry!

Fabulous!
The games had me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn’t put it down. I came to love so many characters, and the challenges of the games were ingenious. I take away one star, though, for spending too much time in the beginning on trivial things and going on about the romance and for saying corny things like “lapis lazuli eyes” over and over. The games portion of the book was definitely five-star!

Outstanding, gripping 3rd instalment
The first book in this supposedly Young Adult Dystopian series, is free, which is how I found it. I am not a Young Adult, and I dont really care if it is supposedly "dystopian" or not. What I care about is the quality of the writing, the story, and wether or not it grabs my attention. In this particular instance, I was grabbed well and truly,, and immersed my self in Gwen's life. I have read the first 2 books in this series 19 times each, and 2 days after release am on my 3rd re-read of Win, now waiting for the 4th and final instalment to be written. This book continues in the very next second, after Compete finishes, and is gripping, I dont do spoilers, so I wont say more about the story line, but the writing is detailed, which appeals to me, descriptive, imaginative, and makes the story come alive inside my head as I read, like I would view a film in a cinema. Very few writers manage to grab my attention like this, and I read a lot, mainly across the Sci-fi/fantasy genre. I read a book like most people would eat a meal, either enjoying it or walking away. This series of books is a top class buffet, and has me looking forward to each page turn, and new twists in the plot. Ms Nazarian has a way of painting images in my mind using words instead of a brush, and Gwen, and the "cast" are as real to me as my children. Bravo Vera, now I just have to wait for Survive!

Looking forward to the next book!
Like many who have reviewed, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of Win. Vera Nazarian kindly kept her fans and readers up to date on the progress of the book and even posted the first 30 (I think) chapters on wattpad which was much appreciated by everyone I think. Now, to get the few minor negatives out of the way first..I do agree with what several other reviewers have said regarding the last section of the book. For me, the last 2 stages of the games and the ending did feel somewhat rushed. So much care was put into building the atmosphere of the first two stages so you really felt like you were there and this was somewhat lacking in the last two for me. Particularly the final stage and race which I really enjoyed and would have loved that to have some of the embellishment of the earlier stages. Also I would agree that the ending was a tad abrupt, I would have liked a more detailed reunion between Aeson and Gwen after all she had gone through! That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the book on the whole and it was a real page turner, I read it in 3 days straight, even with having to drag myself to work! I personally enjoyed the first part with the detailed training etc. It felt like it was setting the scene and building the relationship between Aeson and Gwen which had, intentionally, been stilted an undefined up until then. It was also nice to include the other characters from the previous books. It was a shame there wasn't more of their relationship growing in the later parts of the book as that is what I really enjoy about this series. The focus was put on the game stages of course but i kept looking forward to the interactions between Aeson and Gwen. It still feels as if they are somewhat uncomfortable with each other but I suppose that's intended also! I am very much looking forward to Survive and hoping it will be a happy ending that we are all hoping for!

Win, Win, Winner!
The only disappointing thing about this book is the wait I'll have to endure before the final instalment comes out. It's been a long time coming but I now have a new book series to add to my top five ever. Vera Nazarian really has the most fantastic and vivid imagination and has created a fantastic journey for our lead characters, Gwen and Aeson. Now on Atlantis, we find out what happens to the couple after Aeson's seemingly panicked announcement that Gwen is to be his bride. His father, the Imperator, is not to be outdone in his wish for Aeson to marry an 'appropriate' bride from an ancient bloodline, and grants Gwen her 'wish' to enter the Games of the Atlantis Grail. Here we go back to a scenario similar to Qualify, but much, much more dangerous. The emotional highs and lows we suffer with the couple are heart rendering and I was reduced to tears several times. There were many new characters to love and hate and some remarkable descriptive writing of the various stages of the competition itself. I love the historical inclusions and the pegasei look to be an interesting addition for the next book. My only gripe is that Aeson didn't feature enough. Anyone who has bothered to read this far in my review, do yourself a favour and download this series, you won't regret it. Well done Vera, this series deserves greater acknowledgement and to be noticed by the film makers perhaps!

A government health warning needed!
I have lost more sleep over this series than any other I can recall for such a long time, decades. I am actually quite amazed that I could be so possessed by an intimately described female principal character in this way. Amazed... Anyway the story line unfolds beautifully and tantalisingly throughout the whole series keeping you page turning long after common sense and sleep beckons. [4am once!]As a writer/novelist myself, I sometimes find I am hypercritical of another author's typos [inevitable], sentence construction [expected] and methods of delineating speech from thoughts. BUT not in this series. So wrapped up in the story was I that I did not care that there must have been the odd error. I truly cannot recall a single one although I know they are there. I am on tenterhooks waiting for Survive. Oi Nazerian! Get a move on woman!

Stunned, delighted, exhausted & wowed!
Stunned, delighted, exhausted & wowed!Have just finished Book 3, now waiting for next in series and what an AWESOME series it is. This is the first series in a very long time, where one of the passages literally brought tears to my eyes with the fantastically written evocative emotion. The descriptions and feelings are so real, it is as if you are there, living it.The series starts off in the middle of an event; it literally drops you in at the deep end and carries on from there, with drama after drama.I don't know whether this series would be classed as YA but I am much older and didn't find it young at all. Just full of adventure, drama, emotion, love, thrills and a totally possible believable story-line. This is so much a four Film option (where's Peter Jackson?) or even a television series, although a film would probably have a budget big enough to do justice to the story.I am now hanging on the edge of my seat waiting for Book 4......
