This is what you want. I should have bought this earlier.
This is what you should buy. I'll explain in detail.I previously had a white-handled Parker SR1. It was more popular and a little more expensive, so I thought it was the better brand. It was mediocre, and the handle shattered at a slight provocation, being made of cheap plastic. This is not only cheaper than the Parker I had, but of higher quality than even the all-steel Parker offerings, in the handle AND the blade carrying portion. This razor is solid, tightly fitted, smooth, and very impressive; I didn't expect much for the price, but I expect this one to be around forever. I also noticed some warping on the Parker's topmost fastening piece when I pulled on it too hard, but the steel on this Classic Samurai is solid throughout. The Shark blades with this are sharper than the blades that came with my Parker, also. It seems like everyone purchases this item with Derby blades, but I would rather have these Sharks, they seem better to me. Despite being more sturdy and secure than the competitor, this razor's head is slightly thinner. Only a very small portion of the blade is revealed, and this is a hugely tiny point, but I like that I have a slightly wider effective angle. This also comes with a light protective carrying case, something like you see holding shears in salons, which is really rather nice and convenient. I would have been fine with the carrying case or included blades being junk at such a low price with the razor itself being so good, but they're both impressive. Even the logo on this razor's handle is solid and professional looking. This is a hella good deal. It's rock solid and dirt cheap— You really aren't going to find a better alternative. I literally could not ask for anything else.

Quality made straight razor, all stainless steel, no plastic parts to break, no rough edges.
Since getting this Samurai straight razor, it is all I use now. I've never used a straight razor before, but knew about how to use one. Now I get the closest shave I've gotten from any razor. I like the weight of the scales as it gives good balance while shaving. Everything is stainless steel, so there's nothing to break. I'm still getting used to using it, but I have progressed enough in technique to use daily. I've found that it it's best used with a thick shaving cream such as the gel type. I go with the grain first, then make a second pass against the grain to get that nice smooth close shave. I can get nice crisp lines around goatee, mustache and hairline on back of neck. Occasionally I'll get a nick, but it is usually from not holding skin taught enough and the corner of the blade will nick. If you take your time and have your technique down, it gives a great smooth close shave. I'd recommend this razor to those wanting to try a straight razor. The other reviews were fairly accurate. That's why i picked this one and I'm glad i did.

High quality, well-constructed. Shaves like a dream.
This blade is my very first shavette. It is well-constructed, but comes in a very basic plastic cover package. No frills, but won't expect too much for such a no-nonsense shaver. The steel does look high quality, and the initial feel of the blade holder unit - is that it is quite tight. Time will tell how well ti holds up.All the screws holding the handles and other things in place, are well done, so that moving them in different directions are smooth, and not too loose or tight. The shark blades are SHARP! It is quite clearly the best shave I have ever had. It does take time to get used to, on how to use a shavette. But I am more than happy with my first shave, and I don't see myself ever going back. For beginners: Preparing your stubble is key. Watch youtube videos and practice without a blade on your face first. For regular users looking to buy this one : This is something that is high quality and something that seems like will last years if not decades.

Excellent low cost close shave!
Works like a dream! This razor is nicely weighted, and looks cool. It looks like the same type of blade holder as the Parker or Dreadnought. It costs less, and you get more blades. The Shark blades get the job done. I can get a couple good shaves from Shark before changing. Shark isn't the sharpest or most durable so I bought some DE Personnas to split. They fit tighter because of bend due to breaking the blade. I bought this because my straight razors were getting too difficult to keep the edge. Seems to get as close as a real straight razor. I may try to hone those straight razors when I have plenty of time. I enjoy this one for now. There are hundreds of brands of blades to try out in this razor.

Great for beginners and worth 3 times what you pay
it's solid, not too heavy and definitely not too light or flimsy. fit in my hand comfortably. It came with the shark razors, which aren't the best in the world but they are perfect for beginners because they are too sharp but they are nowhere near dull. I use it to shave my head, which can be a challenge with a razor like this. I only had 2 small nicks but did great over all and the shave was awesome. I did use a lot of cremo and kept putting the razor in very hot water. I'd recommend this to anyone.

classic samurai shavette straight razor
classic samurai is a good shavette straight stainless steel razor in the barber shop tradition. use plenty of lather and shave slow and careful since the shark blades are very sharp. with practice you will eventually avoid cuts like i did the first time. macho way of shaving.
